I remember the days when Specials could offer good damage in their own right like the Felwinter's Lie with Final Round and Ex Machina with its unique "Wait for it" perk. With these weapons you could always continue to contribute to damage in a meaningful way.
Even in D2 we briefly had the Ikelos Sniper and Shotgun pulling their own with Boxed Breathing and Trench Barrel, now we're reliving the same scenario we had in Year 1 D2 where if you've run out of Heavy you only have tickle cannons to offer after the fact. Being weak does nothing for Destiny's fun factor, we should be powerful

Modifié par Joulevette12 : 2/28/2024 11:10:07 AMThe reason why the main issue is that Bungie keeps putting the same rolls on the same guns with no mix ups to make them stand out like they previously use to do all they have at this point is new and old perks in the same slot on a different skin They can easily make a solar handcannon with Rampage+incandescent Sniper-clown cartridge+triple tap Scout-precision instruments+firefly They scared to experiment unlike previously

Only time you would use a special more than a heavy is when you’re using a Machine Gun or a Rocket. Just like Trace Rifles, they had been tuned for add clear (except Machine Guns do a lot more damage) so you would want something else for damage in the special slot and Rockets normally have limited ammo unless you’re in a team with Cenotaph but still a top tier heavy choice. (Especially with Overload Rocket mod).

I honestly just wish more specials had anti champion capability.

Use 2 specials, simple as that. If you run out of ammo and are using a HC to tickle a boss, that's your own skill issue.
-
Any special they make too good we make too potent in raids and bungie doesn't like that. So here we are with the fusions that haven't been nerfed yet somehow.
-
Except special weapons are some of the best weapons in the game? One of the main meta weapons this season is a special weapon
-
Imagine thinking 35k damage in a special isn't enough 💔😭😂
-
In d1, wasn't it the case that the Wotm sniper and Final round shotgun like, the best dps in the game? - if a special weapon can out-dps heavy weapons that were MEANT for dps, why use a heavy? Also, specials are not as bad as you think they are? Supremacy, Cloudstrike, Merciless, Agers Scepter, Rapid fire shotguns, Forerunner, lord of Wolves, fourth horseman, high-impact or rapid fusions, etc! These all compete. Yeah, of course, they aren't the best dps in the game. But they shouldn't be.

I’ve been using the same Cartesian since Chosen and it’s never let me down. Same with lucky pants if you want some extra, non-heavy dps. The two newest fusions are both great options too. Otherwise, outbreak, revision, touch, and even hierarchy hit pretty hard for primaries. But yeah I understand your point and do miss the days when there was more loadout variety
-
I honestly agree. I went back to D1 the other day and my pulse rifle was doing good damage even at fall-off range. I have constantly felt my weapons damage has been poor and even trying meta weapons hasn't felt good compared to using an ability. Unfortunately, Bungie seems to be trying to force a weapon meta without buffing weaponry in a meaningful way so abilities take forever to come back while weapons run out of ammo quickly and primaries deal barely any damage majority of times.
