The technology of moving around in 3-dimensional space with players from different time zones in almost real time is something to marvel at - for this old tortoise, who clearly recalls Space Invaders and Pong; how far things have moved along from cartoon theories to actual reality, still astonishes! A relative ‘safe space’ is another important element that is not lost on those who are aware of the dangers of idly lurking about on the internet, where, in a few innocent clicks, one can find oneself in places unintended. Besides, one can only take so many funny animal or ‘Fail’ vids. Also, imho, the demographics of the player base has changed since D1; kinderguardians are hardly ever seen or heard - but there be lots of ‘man-children’ which seems to be more the majority these days. There’s no doubt that BHQ have been running this game into the ground since the clusterduck of D1 / Sunset. Yet, the corporate entity manages to attract massive investment from all quarters; it seems, mysteriously so, that they (BHQ) can do no wrong!? They (BHQ) must be doing something right, somewhere, to attract such, whilst at the same time, they (BHQ) manage to infuriate their paying customers, ie, us Guardians, to the nth degree, at almost every new twist and turn?! This is what this old tortoise finds most astonishing! 🧐 I can only SMH 🙄 As a regular Casual player, both PvE and PvP, I now do less than ever before…mostly vanilla stuff, and only to s point. I don’t buy stuff from EverWorse bar the occasional ‘Charitable’ offering. I’m looking forward to closing out my 10-year compact…and that should be The Final Shape…and then I’m done with all things Bungie…no Matter what!? 🤖 Until then, I’ll continue to gently pootle about and do the stuff I want, and enjoy the good aspects of this incredible virtual space called Destiny. 🙂 Ease springs.
