Hey all,
Yesterday, we announced the goal of removing time pressure associated with Glory ranks, and that Pinnacle Crucible rewards will be awarded via quests starting in Season 4.
Redrix’s Claymore will remain exclusive to Season 3. The Redrix’s Broadsword will be available through a pinnacle weapon questline in Season 4 offered by Lord Shaxx. To set expectations, here are the quest steps that must be completed in order to acquire Redrix’s Broadsword:

While I think people who grinded Claymore are absolute beasts who have patience for that stuff in Comp, this does remind me of like... Trials of Osiris weapons, Claymore is the Adept version and Broadsword is the normal version. I'll grind it as I didn't have interest in Comp before.

Is it possible to solo queue at night cuz all I see are cute teams.

Modifié par Deign : 8/18/2018 10:41:36 AM
Step 8: • Reset your Valor rank 5 times within a single season
I’m assuming this means resetting your Valor rank 5 times in season 4, correct? And if i reset my Valor rank before reaching this step will that rank reset count?
-
How long will it take a player to do all theses steps ? I like the idea of it , but think the grind will be pointless, by the time people get this weapon we’ll be ready for new season and it will be worthless It’s a good idea , might be quicker than I think to do , but least it’s something for crucible players to grind for
-
Thank you for this. This makes me feel like I never wasted my time for redrix OG. The fact that I will be able to get this on day 1 makes me me feel like my time grinding for the claymore was not wasted. And for anyone who is going to grind for this weapon. If you put the time and effort in, you earned it.
-
Well, I for one won’t be grinding for this cause I’m not a fan of PvP. Still, it’s nice to see that PvP players are given more incentive to play the game.
-
I don’t mind the Broadsword existing at all but I do think they should let us make our Claymore a year 2 weapon too. Instead of the Broadsword dropping in crucible engrams from the start for Claymore owners, just have the Claymore drop. Know it’s just a name and a different skin but it would mean more to the people who earned it as it would separate them from the Broadsword users. As things stand, it will be optimum for Claymore owners to use the Broadsword and this is what devalues the achievement of obtaining the Claymore.
-
@dmg04, can these steps be completed concurrently? Or do we have to reset Valor 5 times after completing everything else?
-
Approx 9000 people have Claymore, if it becomes the most meta weapon they deserve having that achievement. Out of those 9000, I have only played against two guardians with the Claymore, a minority of the population isn't going to completely unbalance the game. Claymore owners should have owned that distinction and the rest of us scrubs been given viable alternatives.

Modifié par Jared_van_Kell : 8/18/2018 6:00:51 PMYou would probably get to the first reset by the time you have completed step 7 and as long as you do not reset before you have got to step 8 you can reset then for reset 1 of 5, the hard part comes from the grind to get the remaining 4 resets as if valor progression has not been re-tuned to be quicker then I can see earning the remaining 8000 valor points being a tough grind for a lot of folk unless things like triple valor point weekends become a lot more common. At the worst case scenario where a player never won a single match in season 4 they would have to play 1000 matches to get the 5 resets in one season. Now assuming that we have until the 4th of December when the Black Armoury DLC hits we are looking at 13 weeks to play a maximum of 1000 matches. This is equates to playing 77 games per week which is 11 matches and 110 valor points per day if you do not win any of them. However I doubt anyone would ever go through a season without winning a match and then of course there are things like double and triple valor periods which would also make the grind easier. I should also mention that things like the Iron Banner and Mayhem Clash weekly rotations would also incentivise players to enter PvP and keep playing for the rewards and the increased valor acquisition due to Mayhem matches being typically shorter than most. Also if you enter competitive PvP you would still get valor as well as glory and your losses in competitive PvP would not reset your valor streak either, in fact you would continue to score increased valor that would increase with each win. So in reality the Redrix's Broadsword in a single season is more than achievable, even to a solo player, but you have to make getting it a goal.

Looking forward to doing this first of all when forsaken drops!
-
Sounds really cool, solo like me, this is doable and actually will be fun. Thanks.
-
The 5 Valor resets is just plain -blam!-. If this is the kind of grind we can expect for weapon quests in Forsaken, I probably won’t purchase the expansion. Grinding until your eyes and ears bleed like you have Ebola is not fun. In fact, I would rather get Ebola than grind that much Crucible.
-
I think the only thing I am hating about this is the 5 resets. Other than that it looks like a reasonable grind.
Maybe it would be better if it were just 3 resets?
-
Dividing the player base even more Just comp everyone the weapon who has tried min level 2 in comp
-
Does the 5 resets have to be in season 4 or can it be any season? I am around 600-700 points away from resetting my Valor rank for the 5th time THIS season, season 3. Anyone know?
-
hahahaha yeah no. that’s gross.
-
Step 8 is just silly
-
that's... doable. all of that is actually doable. i play pvp exclusively solo and in qp and, if i adjust to s4 pvp well, these requirements are actually doable for me. oh my god.
-
Easy, shouldn't take to long if you focus on it. Only thing is that the valor rank should count if you aren't on that step in the quest. (Solstice of heroes legend masterwork)
-
should be like 2 reset at least my god
-
Ok. A couple questions. If I complete this quest do I get both guns? Because people are angry about their hard work being taken away. Secondly, is the Broadsword a Kinetic Pulse aswell? Or is it an Energy? Is it even a Pulse?
-
Awesome...I’m in! Oh wait...step 8. I’m out. I will however show respect to anyone who gets it.
-
Step 10. Nerf Fusions?
-
Well thanks a lot bungle. Good to know that the hours I spent grinding out the claymore were for absolutely nothing. Guess I won’t even try for any rewards from the comp playlist this season seeing as all I’ll have to do is wait till the next dlc and do an easy ass quest to get them.

Modifié par WulfPak666 : 8/18/2018 4:58:26 AMAre you gonna be locked step by step , so beat step 1 to unlock step 2 or are they all just a list with a check box as you progress...? So can you get the doubles and headshots while you're going for the 200 kills? Gonna be sitting at Max Valor for half this quest until you can finally roll it when you get to step 8. Or can you roll over Valor 5 times and then when you get to step 8 it just auto completes?!
