Had me laughing...
Destiny 2 mostly limits players to earning tokens, which can then be exchanged for a random weapon. Want to play the raid? Enjoy those tokens. Feeling like some Crucible? Token time! Exploring one of the game’s patrol zones? Expect to receive plenty of tokens.
I don’t have a problem with tokens personally. I grew up in D1 where I got nothing for the effort I put into VoG. I loved getting 0 drops because -blam!- me. At least with this system I had a safety net to get me a guaranteed random item. It’s not as if the tokens took away the loot drop, it just functions as a bad luck protection. Why people are upset with that confuses me.

I dont like tokens much I think for me it compounds other issues . It takes an average of 20 tokens to rank up a vendor, when that happens you usually get 2 rewards that you likely already have based on linear stats and no random rolls . It really just highlight how shallow the reward system is . Secondly , although fixed now going through a raid with next to no drops just felt really lame . That just sucked the fun out of completing an encounter . In general I much preferred d1s progress bar style system, it’s kinda unfortunate the only place in d2 this still exists is eververse . Not to mention that getting tokens is really easy . Overall it gives an overly generous reward for very little work that you are almost guaranteed to end up breaking down .

What I, and a lot of other players I think are really upset about is the fact that it doesn’t have that same level of satisfaction. While you are still getting rewarded it feels like a pat on the back rather than real rewards.

He flip side is no rewards. It’s like being scolded for doing something correctly. I’ll take a pat on the back over a scolding anyday.

And whatever weapon you get for tokens doesn’t raise you light level

Smiled for that - such an exciting reward system... Remember when engrams started dropping out of bosses in strikes in D1. Looked so stupid - I just killed Valus Taurwhatever and a couple blue balls fall out of his ass as he falls over... didn't make any sense. Engrams and tokens for everything..,.

Like some other guardian had said: Destiny 2: The Token King

Completely agree Tokens are just plain childish
