No.
We've already seen it in the regular crucible what kind of horrific lag issues that type of strict SBMM you suggest creates, because it limits the player pool you can be matched with. It doesn't matter that you try to do both, you can't reliably find a good connection when you are searching it from a limited player pool.
The system they use now already procudes way too many laggy lobbies and there really is no need to make it worse. If anything were to change it should be removing any type of SBMM (including matchmaking by amount of wins), and make the matchmaking only find the best possible connection.
Also, Elo is a 3rd party stat. The sites that calculate it do get their data from the API Bungie provides but it is still something Bungie doesn't control.
Well then why don't u suggest something to fix the ongoing pairing of god kids against low ranking players in game modes like trials?

You can't do anything about it without making the game more laggy than it already is, because you always end up limiting the player pool. Because the game is old and in a content drought, and therefore losing players, even the current win-based matchmaking is something they should consider getting rid of in order to minimize the connection problems. Same goes for the regular crucible, it needs connection based matchmaking.

But yes all of us are feeling the limited pool of players in crucible, especially in trials. You know the player base is dwindling when your team of average players of 1500 elo are going against players at the 2000elo and even 3000elo marks on a regular basis. The only good thing I can say is coming of it is that since we are all going against such high level players it'll give us a chance to critique ourselves against them to hopefully get self improve.
