Hi everyone (specifically Bungie),
Are you tired of getting to 9 wins and getting matched against carry ELO's 4K above your own? Tired of actually trying to get to the lighthouse only to be stopped by players who pair with lower ELO's specifically to stop hard grinding players (like yourselves) from getting to the lighthouse? Even tired of reading how Super-Sayan-God-Super-Sayan Elite streamers brag about them getting 8 wins; scrapping their card and doing it just to block your trip to the lighthouse?
There is an answer (o.O @ Bungie still)...
There is something called an Average... Hear me out.
> Why not use a Trials team's Average ELO as the basis to find a match?
>> Then set a parameter of ±100 ELO from the average of the fire team? Obviously start with a ±1 ELO then expand to a maximum of ±100 ELO. If no good Match is found...
>>> Then expand the allowable ping time a little and start the ELO search difference again to keep the closest Average ELO followed by the lowest ping for an optimum latency?
What happens is the are players with ELO of 1,267 who pair with a 1,745 and the ringer of 2,189. They hop in against a team of 1,365 a 1,434 and a 1,503. This match up goes on game 8 or 9 and the 2,189 ELO player skunks the other team single-handedly; t-bags as you watch 1 player claim ultimate victory (proof he was carried in an adult sleeping bag) and they depart before the scores post. More than likely, a player who probably didn't deserve to step foot on the lighthouse grounds now made it 7 times because said person fits in an 2K+ ELO's ruck sack.
According to Averages
Carry-Team's average ELO is: 1,733
Legitimate Trials Team's Average is: 1,434
I doubt the odds of the Carry-Team would be very good if they had to play against 3 1,733 ELO Players.
Why not create an Allowed Average ELO search window to no more than ±100 ELO so that it is HARDER for a 2K+ ELO streamer to carry a ruck sack or just to make it harder for them to prance around thier Trials Card, only to discard it at 8 wins to keep ruining legitimate lighthouse runs???
If not an ELO search, than a new ranking system specific to trials that infinitely goes up in rank and then average the Fire-Team's rank the same way that was described above?
I.E.:
Player Wins 2 matches in a row, +1 rank
Player Loses 2 matches in a row, -1 rank
Player's rank is set to "probationary" period after 1 loss, 2 consecutive wins get player out of "probationary" period and 3rd win +1 rank.
With an infinite number of rank levels, Super-Sayan-God-Super-Sayan Elite Streamers will fight to be the world's highest rank and give a truer sense of matching and accomplishment; deterring them from trying to risk a loss of try are matched against a closely averaged team to their Trials rank who would stop their weakest link and converge as a team.
I'd love to hear what the community has to say so please leave a comment, we need to get as much traffic as possible to get the hard-working Dev-Teams' attention in this matter.
Doctah-Dave out.

3 commentairesNo. We've already seen it in the regular crucible what kind of horrific lag issues that type of strict SBMM you suggest creates, because it limits the player pool you can be matched with. It doesn't matter that you try to do both, you can't reliably find a good connection when you are searching it from a limited player pool. The system they use now already procudes way too many laggy lobbies and there really is no need to make it worse. If anything were to change it should be removing any type of SBMM (including matchmaking by amount of wins), and make the matchmaking only find the best possible connection. Also, Elo is a 3rd party stat. The sites that calculate it do get their data from the API Bungie provides but it is still something Bungie doesn't control.

They could just throw matches to lower their ELOs

TL:DR Im bad and i cant get to lighthouse make it easier bungo. No need to water down trials for bad players Lighthouse is not for everyone. Bungie is not going to change how trials works no matter how many bad players are whining it doesnt matter
-
Because ELO is a shit 3rd party system It is also EASILY abused. Rarely do I see legit diamond players actually be good.

Modifié par Ad0Nut1 : 1/24/2017 8:41:50 PMI would have to agree with u. As a year 1 trials player I have never ran into so many steamers than this past week. Sad part is ppl pay to get to Lighthouse shit yesterday I ran into a dude that got carried by Wish U Luck, I whooped his ass cause he didn't have Wish with him. I knew it was him cause he had that emblem u get when u donate to streamers. This game is getting whacker n whacker by the day!
Are you tired of getting to 9 wins and getting matched against carry ELO's 4K above your own?
I'm tired of getting to 5 wins and that happening.

Okay, now think about the factor of recovs. There's a lot of that going around. They would just match up against the less fortunate, they'd then obliterate them... they then would come to the forums and complain some more.
-
TL:DR - Bring SBMM to Trials. There. That's quicker.
-
2 commentairesWell, as a carry streamer... the lower I match with the easier the carry? Alright.
-
2 commentairesELO isnt even a official stat, so why would bungie use it if they dont even keep track of it

1 commentaireIf Elo is used, I'll just tank my Elo and get paired with shit teams.

Good post Dave, hopefully it gets some traction. I for one am super tired of battling for even low end wins on a card against 2000+ elo's. I saved a picture of my low-mid elo team versing streamers such a NKuch tonight. Who is BTW a 2300elo player who makes a living streaming this game and others. Which begs the question, why are we even going against these god kids? BUNGIE YOUR SEEING THAT YOUR GAME IS LOSING PLAYERS....PROOF OF THAT IS LOW ELO PLAYERS ARE VERSING GOD PLAYERS....IT MEANS THE PLAYER POOL IS GETTING VERY NARROW. FIX IT!!!!!!!
