For me I would call it "Decent"
It's called the decent because each horde you defeat you go lower into the darkness. It would be a round room with pillars and rubble to hide behind.
You start easy enough with small groups of minor enemies and each level gets harder. You would fail when all allies are dead just like a nightfall or strike. Harder levels have more enemy types like Cabal, Hive and Taken all working against you in tandem. Every 10 decents you fight a random boss kinda like the PoE and after you defeat the boss you unlock a chest.
You have a chance to earn small things at first like motes, ToC, Strange Coins and legendary items or armour. After you defeat 3 bosses or so you start getting better items like a chance to get exotics, Shaders, Emblems and weapons and armour unique to the decent playlist. These unique weapons would do extra damage to a certain enemy like Cabal, Hive, Taken or the Vex.
I would also add random modifiers every 10 decents. It would start with 1 and then 2 and then 3 etc. This would make it alot harder to continue winning. There would be a global leaderboard to see which team got the furthest for nothing other than bragging rights. You could even have a record book to add more loot and achievements.
So would you play "The Decent" or what would you amend to improve the idea?
