If you want vanguard weapons do vanguard activities and rank up. If you want crucible weapons do crucible activities and rank up. Holy hell im a genius.

Ignoring the problem does not solve the issue that Iron Banner remains unrewarding after Level 5. I've levelled Vanguard and Crucible 6 times this week, got lots of ships, mixed variety of arms and armour. Played lots of Iron Banner, got the same 4 items a dozen times over so far. Your answer is not a solution, it's admitting that you should quit IB at level 5.
-
I think that once you reach rank 5, you should be able to get any IB weapon or armor to drop post-game, albeit at a lesser drop rate.
-
Basically yeah. The point to getting rank 5 is getting the package, being able to loot all of the gear, and having the chance of ghost shells dropping. For the majority of people it takes all week to reach rank 5. You want special treatment cause you grind it out in 3-4 days?
-
Straw man is a straw man. I completed Iron Banner on day 1 (or very early day 2) and I play it because I enjoy the challenge (during the week it runs it's often the only place you can find a game as all other playlists empty) and because I try to assist several friends in also levelling up their IB ranks where I can. This does not change the fact that the drops for myself, and any other IB player regardless of how much or little they play the game, is currently 100% Boots, Hatchet, Launcher and Marks and this makes IB unrewarding, and lacking in variety (great for melting Hatchets to level all my guns - but there's only so many boots I can wear). This is not about me, this is about a poor reward system beyond rank 5 to maintain interest and player levels and encourage the lobbies to stay active.
-
The whole point is replayability. They're not gonna make it so you can get every single piece, or even a majority of pieces in one event. It's been this way for a long time now.
-
How does changing the reward list to offer fewer items that immediately you can duplicate increase the re-playability? So say next months IB the store offers 100% the same items. Why would anyone play it? For some duplicate items of the same light level you are already at? Or say in the next 3 months they have gone through every IB item that exists. What then? Where's the longevity? Your answer makes no sense.
-
It does make sense. Because you know how long it takes for the same items to roll around again if you miss even one? Months. This game isn't geared towards the "hardcore" gamer like you seem to be. It has aspects for the elitist, and aspects for the casuals. If you want your elitist loot go stick to trials.
-
Straw man again. I have the elitist loot from IB. I now have it a dozen times over this week. This is nothing to do with Hardcore or Casual. Anyone could have bought the awarded items from the shop just as easily as been awarded it. So that whole argument is not only moot, it's illogical. This here...
It does make sense. Because you know how long it takes for the same items to roll around again if you miss even one? Months.
...is telling me that people should only play IB when an item that they don't have is available. Playing at any other time just gets you duplicates of the exact same item - great for infusing, of no value for re-playability or maintaining interest. I am suggesting the list expands to include more interesting options and variety to improve the game and maintain a level of interest in IB beyond rank 5. I repeat: So say next months IB the store offers 100% the same items. Why would anyone play it? For some duplicate items of the same light level you are already at?
-
That's the same thing as saying why play the raid after you've gotten all of the max level loot from it. You either don't, or you grind it for different rolls. You've gotten everything from IB, congrats. Play something else?
-
...yes, that's exactly the same. What was your point, because you seem to have just made mine for me?
-
My point being, there's always going to be a point you reach where you've achieved or attained everything. You can't expect that every time you do that that they're suddenly going to just add more loot.
-
So basically you agree with everything I said in OP, but I should stop playing because I am just disappointing myself? Thank you for your insight.
-
In summary I think you're expecting something that's not gonna happen
-
Jeeeez, you're a downer. Do you vote, or sit at home complaining that even if you did nothing would change?
-
Just think about this realistically. There's a set loot table for each activity. If you get all of the loot, what's the point after that? New rolls? That's about it. There's other things that need to be addressed in this game than adding reskinned guns to a loot table.
-
Like having no reason to play the game at all because you have attained everything amirite?
-
In a sense yes. Either just keep regrinding everything, work on getting sets all infused up, or just play casually until the next update whenever that might be.
