They stated over a year ago that is not going to happen again. Go back and read the directors cut blogs by Luke Smith, old twabs, and streams. They were relatively open, for bungie, to not expect another forsaken, but they promise they'll make super awesome stuff! The between the lines is resource management of money, people, and time. All of which they lost going solo.

Edited by Sohsuh: 8/4/2021 7:15:33 PMLuke Smith is no longer creative director. That was last October. They increased the studio, have a new creative director, and are making a lot more money than back then. They are making more money now than before since everything they make is theirs now.

Doesn't matter that he is no longer the director. The information he put down is the direction the game has taken. It does not look to be changing even if they have more money and hires. That still does not make up for the entire extra studio or two that use to aid them. Hence the warning put down back then and follow through on it along with the grim outlook currently.

They have increased their studio by twice the size, so all logic would point to them also increasing the development team as well. The studios who helped before were not that big, so it's not like if Bungie added a bunch of new people they wouldn't be able to handle the workload. They are a massive, triple A company and they make a TON of money from Eververse. Go look at how much money they made last year. It's ridiculous to think that they can't dish out Forsaken level content. They have trained you guys so well. They have fed you non stop posts about how they can't do this and can't do that, they won't make a Forsaken level expansion, the engine is hard to make content for, blah blah. This is the only company that spends most of it's time telling the player base what they cannot do. I wonder why? Probably so they don't have to do any of it! And people like you will go around preaching their words as gospel so they don't have to!
-
I am not preaching it like gospel. Simply pointing out that they told us what to expect and so far have given just that. I do not intend to come out supporting them. Doubled their studio, OK. Cash shop money, OK. Then where is the new stuff? A "reprised raid" was mej and pure nostalgia. I'm going by their actions, which have been little across the game for the support and resources they supposedly weild. Also, don't forget their new IP, Matter, supposedly linked to a CCP company known for cash shops. I doubt they are 100% Destiny. Maybe we'll be proven wrong next expansion. But, I do don't have high hopes.
-
But that’s my point man. Where is the new stuff? Haha. They are not putting it back into Destiny, which is why I am saying Witch Queen really needs to be big.
-
It does need to. But I do not think it will be for those reasons.
-
Probably not. If the rumours are true its Mars coming back, which is hilarious. An old planet with the Witch Queen. I’ll quit the game for sure if that’s the case.
-
I'm getting closer to that each week
-
I'll be trying out New World next month, then BF2042 and Halo, and probably Far Cry 6 as well. So it will take a lot to bring me back for Witch Queen and if I had to put money on it, I'd say it's not going to be that good.

If the data mines, or leaks, or however they are referred to are true, the story arc sounds bad.
