This game has gotten so stale.
it's just the same thing over and over, and we mostly do the same stuff we have been doing for years. Stuff that hasn't been updated or changed in years.
When a new season drops now, we get drip fed 1 single map from the new mode. Boring. We tinker around with the seasonal artifact and unlocking the War Table/Splicer equivalent. But really, we just run around grinding pinnacles in older activities that we have been playing for years. It's not like a new season drops and we only play a ton of new stuff. It's just 1 single map from a new activity that gets boring after a few runs then back to the old activities.
When Forsaken released, we literally pretty much only did new stuff. 2 new planets, ascendant challenges, the blind well was poppin, there were new strikes, new crucible maps, Gambit was a brand new mode to grind, Shattered Throne released, Last Wish was incredible.
You would log in and go straight into new stuff. You weren't just cycling around the same old grind that you had been doing already. There were so many new things and we need that again.
Beyond Light released in the same way as a normal seasonal DLC. 3 days into it we were back to the same old same old.
Next season is going to be the same old same old. The first week will be 1 map drip fed from a new mode, most likely a glorified public event, plus some easy story/expunge type mission, drip fed 1 at a time per week. So basically after a few hours the first day, we'll be back into the pinnacle grind in old activities.
Witch Queen really needs to be that Forsaken level of content. We need new things to do.
Witch Queen needs 2 planets, a new mode to grind, a dungeon, a horde type activity to grind like blind well, things like Ascendant Challenges that change weekly, etc. We need it. It's been too long of the same old grind and we need more than a drip fed map rotation from a boring activity.

15 RepliesBungie already mentioned in the past that no expansion will ever be as big as Forsaken. One of the main reasons for this is because Bungie was working with Activision (Vicarious Visions was the studio helping I believe) when making Forsaken.
-
5 RepliesIt won’t be. They have stated in the past we will never get a DLC of that scale again. Temper expectations.
-
I totally agree with this. The old days of forsaken were great fun for me
-
It will be the same 3 weeks after release. 7 days for those no life players. Just the way it is.
-
Not gunna happen unfortunately.
-
1 ReplyThe delay gave them almost at full extra year. So i don't see the money argument working with all that time. Witch queen for all intents and purposes should be destiny 3 scale. At least 2.5
-
Less than a year ago we were told that it took 3 studios to make that happen, and it that an expansion of that size will never occur again. Bungie expanding means almost nothing for Destiny, they expanded because Destiny isn’t their only IP now. Just give up hope like the rest of us lol.

3 RepliesEdited by DarkMoonWolf666: 8/4/2021 5:14:32 AMIt's not going to be and they said back then that no expansion will ever be TTK/forsaken size Also Damn you been complaining yet playing since D2 release

9 RepliesEdited by $hirtless Captain Kirk: 8/4/2021 4:47:43 PMNot gonna happen. It'll be Shadowkeep/Beyond Light size stuff. Gotta remember we have the B team working on the game. The main focus is "Matter" at Bungie.
-
3 RepliesLuke smith already stated that there will never be a destiny DLC the size of forsaken ever again in an interview. Without the extra studios that activision supplied them with and most of the team being split to work on matter it will never happen so lower your hopes and I’m sorry to disappoint.

10 RepliesThey stated over a year ago that is not going to happen again. Go back and read the directors cut blogs by Luke Smith, old twabs, and streams. They were relatively open, for bungie, to not expect another forsaken, but they promise they'll make super awesome stuff! The between the lines is resource management of money, people, and time. All of which they lost going solo.
-
Sadly when Beyond Light dropped they said they are unable to do a Taken King or Forsaken sized expansion again. I wouldn't expect it to be larger than Beyond Light.
-
Look, i get it. You want it to be the size of forsaken. We all want that. But lets be real. What are the chances?
-
It’ll be the size of forsakens foreskin
-
2 RepliesImagine continuously playing and buying a game that’s you’ve brainwashed yourself into hating. It must be sad living like you.
-
It needs to be bigger than forsaken, and Lightfall needs to be as big as d2 vanilla. I’d be fine if they vaulted the EDZ and Tangled Shore if Lightfall gives us 3 locations. It won’t, but it would be cool. I’d love to finally be able to go into the traveler.

1 ReplyAgreed i have been saying this but the problem is this community does not stick together and band to demand better you have alot of people that are just satisfied with the garbage and accept it instead of demanding better. If your ok with paying $40 for a new expansion with 1 strike and no crucible maps when in other expansions you paid the same price and got 4 strikes 6 maps, new raid, new subclasses, new planets, new enemy types then you are just part of the problem at this point. No offense to you directly but more speaking about the community who accepts this .
-
Will never happen . Accept destiny for what it is and lower your expectations. Less disappointment.
-
4 RepliesOBJECTION! Witch Queen needs to be BIGGER than Forsaken. So big that it would make Forsaken look like Curse of Osiris
-
But that would cost money… and Bungie ( largest “ indie “ dev ) in the world. Doesn’t have the “ resources “
-
3 RepliesI personally like how things are going now. Less FOMO and not too no-lifey for busy players. They are more than doubling the size of the studio, so maybe things will be stupid big again in the future.

1 ReplyBigger. We only got one strike out of it. Two PvP maps that got taken away. Story/campaign along with a long unfolding of all content, yes. But d2’s core grind needs enough content to make it feel fresh or nothing will change. PvP needs new content and fresh balancing that opens up the world loot pool. Gambit needs an overhaul and fresh maps. Then we might see some massive growth… But if it only offers a new map and maybe a returning d1 map with a two/three hour campaign while the core grind is still the same after two years… light to no balancing.. It will not only not succeed .. but we will see player numbers drop within 4 weeks and less care for the season passes.
-
5 RepliesThat would be nice but it’s not going to happen. You will feel a lot better once you accept the game for what it is and not what it could be.
-
You are still in that “hope it gets better” mode. Don’t hold your breath. Every new addition, Bungie takes from us.
