Why do you think they delayed its release??
Geez. I think some of you are just addicted to having things to complain about.

Bruh they delayed beyond light and still dropped the shitshow of a dlc the delay won’t make a difference unless if you know for a facts that’s why the delay happened
Why do you think they delayed its release?? Geez. I think some of you are just addicted to having things to complain about.
I don’t think they directly said they’re having a later release date specifically for crucible maps or strikes...did they?
Cmon you have the potential to put out quality content but really have not done that since forsaken i have hope but if you cant nail it for witchqueen i dont think you can capture that greatness anymore.
Bungie has already addressed the issue of strikes. They dont' want people hanging out all day in the strike playlist, and there is a very low return on replayability for strikes. Because any new strike is a big deal for a few days....then it just fades into the background of a bloated playlist....and then people start trying to run past all the enemies rather than actually playing the content. As for Crucible maps, I think the issue is one of monetiization. There is no way to recapture any of the costs they incur to make PVP cotent. Cant' sell it....pvp players won't pay for it and it will split the player base. Cant sell cosmetics without alienating PVE players. So I think Bungie is really just marginalizing PVP, and doesn't want to take the PR hit of killing it outright. I don't think its making money for them, and the conflict between it and PVE is not really solvable in the context of a shared sandbox.
-
PvP players won’t pay for it
I disagree. I don’t see any evidence to support that statement. I think Bungie is too dense to realize PvP players have money, too, and will pay for a quality experience. I would, and I’m confident every single one of my friends would.
-
Bungie understands that they are competing in a FTP world. Battlefield is the only major comp Shooter that still charges for content.
-
Ok. So why don’t they charge? Again, I’m not trying to be snarky, but I don’t see much of an argument here. Most of the F2P shooters are battle royale. There’s a wide open market for a quality arena shooter. They could make a TON of money with a map pack or some such thing. Make comp and trials pay to play, put some badass weapons or even just shaders in there, and people would grind those playlists like no tomorrow. I know I would.
-
Edited by TheArtist: 7/23/2021 7:45:10 PMBecause it’s not clear that the market will tolerate it. And let’s be frank, I’m not sure that Crucible is an experience that many people would pay to play right now. Also BRs are what the market wants right now. Demand for arena shooters like Halo and traditional CoD is fading. So sinking lots of money into one is really risky. Especially if you don’t know how you will earn it back in revenue.
-
Only one way for them to find out. I think they’d be surprised. People stick with the PvP in spite of Bungie’s inattention to it. I think they could make a killing by actually giving it some real attention.
-
All good judgement is the product of poor judgment. The idea is to learn from the other guy’s screw up. Not your own. Iow. Bungie is better served by letting EA take that risk, than stick that fork into the wall socket themselves.
-
So make strikes more replayable
-
Did someone say strike specific loot like in D1? Cause I know I sure did.
-
It would be a no brainer to add, but seems like bungie can’t even get the simplest of tasks done “Making content is hard”
-

Now it's about the bottom line of making money.

They did the same thing to beyond light and look what happened
-
They pushed it back three months, and the whole reason for the split with Activision was that they didn’t have enough content for a Destiny 3. Witch Queen has been pushed back at least five months. I doubt we will see anything before February 2022.
-
I just wish the change they made to decoupling rep from bounties and adding that to activities, also applied to iron banner. Alas it will be the last holdout for tokens.
-
It and the Gunsmith. Weapon parts are basically useless tokens.
-
Right forgot about that. The day they remove telemetries, mod components and finest matter-weaves, will be also be a good day.
