Look for a forum post that offers running a VOG with new raiders, they don't care if you haven't done it and they will most likely tell you what everything does. People post those pretty often.

Your team gets teleported to different realms and one person back where you started has to open portals for you to get back. The relic is used to cleanse when you are marked by an oracle(its like poison you go blind and die). For the first boss its super is used to knock down the impenetrable shields of it so your team can attack it. Watch a YouTube video on it lol
