Quick and Easy: How to use the Relic.
[u]Using default controls:[/u]
[b]Hold Lb/L1[/b]= Cleanse.
[b]Rb/R1[/b]= light attack.
[b]Rt/R2=[/b] heavy attack.
*a jump followed by Rt/R2 performes a smash attack.
[b]Rb+Lb/ R1+L1[/b] = this would perform the relics super. (Shoots like a lanced nova bomb).
[b]Y/triangle [/b]= Drops the relic.
[u]template for other controls [/u]
Cleanse = the grenade button.
Primary attack = the melee button.
Heavy attack = the fire button.
*jump and press the fire button to perform a smash attack
Relics super = the melee + grenade button (supercharge button.)
Drop the relic = weapon swap
[u]Tips:[/u]
[u]-When teleported and fighting the enemies with the relic, keep on the move, you gotta jump, strafe, and run to be sucessful. [/u]
[u]-every member of the fireteam should always have a void weapon ready to use. [/u]
[u]-The relics energy takes time to charge up so use the cleanse and super only when needed.[/u]
[u]-The Praetorian in the Venus portal, If your level is higher than his, sneak up on him (dont jump and glide it will startle the hobgoblins.) once in range jump and hit him with the smash, and then before he could recover i would hit him with a heavy attack. keep in mind that everyone approaches him differently. 2 or 3 smashes can take him out if you hit him, back up so you dont get hit, then hit him again. Your team should be helping you out before they focus on oracles, i found that it works best if they wait for you (the relic holder) to make the first strike. after that They can throw thier granades, then they shoot at the first oracle.
if your level is lower than the praetorian. Do the same thing but you gotta proceed with caution. It works best if you let your team make the first stike on him. It should take 2 to 3 hits if your team helps. If not its gonna take 3 to 4 hits. [/u]
[u]-When times vengeance is active the relic holder jumps to the middle platform and holds the Cleanse Bubble as a shield. So the other players could shoot atheon safely. When there is only 5 seconds left of times vengeance, have a defender titan deploy thier bubble shield so the team can jump off the platform without anyone dying.[/u]
[u]-In the mars portal shoot at the hobgoblin that is furthest away from the group of them. Shoot for the hobgoblins head, they can't use thier shield. Making it a easier kill for the relic holder. [/u]
[u]-check your armor to know your strengths.
High Discipline will make the cleanse bubble charge faster .
High Intellegence will make the relics super charge faster.
High Strength will make the relics attacks do more damage. [/u]
Hopefully this can help out.
I was getting tired of reading the negativity, because someone picked up the relic and didnt know how it worked. instead of yelling at them teach them how it works so the problem never occures again.
Edit: I added in that the cleanse ability needs the be held in order to cleanse your team.

3 RepliesOnly thing I would add is once the relic holder throws the shield in the middle, after leaving the teleporter, no one inside the bubble should move. If you adjust at all then splash damage from his attacks can hit you. My best advice would be to have a Titan with the Defender subclass have Weapons of Light activated on the back of the platform [b]before[/b] the relic holder gets there, every one run through the Titans bubble, then the relic holder throw up their bubble. You'll each get a nice boost to your attack and be protected by the relic :)

The middle platform works well. Did it yesterday on hard and it went fast. Also, everyone should remember to crouch while in the bubble to avoid any splash damage from Atheon's attacks.

Coming from someone who did their first VOG last week I wish I'd read this sooner. It was supposedly a noob run but nobody would give me instructions and just expected me to know what to do. If only people were as helpful as the writer of this post raids would go a lot smoother. Bravo TheAgonist420, bravo

The only comment I'll make is, for many groups, the middle platform is a death trap and it's often a lot better for the relic barer to throw his shield up in the back by he the door to the room. In inexperienced/random groups a lot of people often die on the middle platform because they're either all still standing there when the relic disappears, they jump to their death trying to avoid atheon/bumping other players, or they jump straight to a harpy. Staying in the back puts more distance between you and atheon so he can't hammer you as easily after the shield vanishes, there isn't any jumping to do, and you're less likely to run straight to a harpy. The main downside is that Atheon often walks behind the tall pillar to the left, but if the group shifts right most can still hit him, and a warlock with solar grenade can often stop him from walking over there. Edit 1) saw this same info posted below. It's a common easier strategy. Edit 2) the relic super is also really good for killing stray groups of harpies as you exist the portal.

I just recently played the end of VOG, and no one mentioned this or used it (so I imagine they possibly didn't know it existed or didn't think it was valuable). Does making use of the super hinder cleanse? If it's good to use the super, when would be the best time? I didn't know how to use it coming in but I picked it up pretty fast, it was only me and the guy who taught us who knew how to use it correctly. I asked him before we start how it works and used this thread for a reference, so thanks.

You forgot to say green side adds need to die always first those little -blam!-ers kill you faster then a minotaur on the lose!! I always do adds one blow or two depends if they are pread then minotaur little jump rt no doubles here rinse repeat for fast stun and not getting hit by minotaur gl merry cristmas
