I'd like to add, that while the general strategy is to jump onto the middle platform during Time's Vengeance, if the relic holder posts up near/behind the pillars where the team first enters the arena (back middle) it may be easier to stay alive/survive the onslaught, granted people keep up to date on the suicide harpies.
I mention this because of many reasons, which I'll detail.
The first reason has to do with the volatility that can entail when just trying to get to the middle platform. I've mistimed a jump on a Hunter and missed completely quite a few times. That's not to mention the platform is completely exposed, so if someone happens to land on it early, and not be paying attention to the 'help up' relic holder, they're more than likely dead on the spot.
The second reason is that, in the instance of coming out of the Portals blind (relic holder being unaware or whatever) or on the verge of being blind, it's nigh impossible to tell where the ledges are, and how far away you are to suicide. This can prove quite horrible if the Relic guards become blind on the way out of the portal, or on the way to Middle. It generally means you're dead no matter what.
And thirdly, while consolidating the two previous reasons, heading to the Back Middle seems far more safe. Sure, you can be owned by Harpies there, but considering that it'll be easier to get to (no ledges to miss, or platforms to jump onto) it makes players that are blind, or horrible at jumping, able to get to with relative ease.
There's also a LOT of cover between the portals and the particular spots I'm referring to, there's even a pillar on each side to hide behind should things be going wrong. Not to mention there's far less death involved during the 'Vengeance is going down, need to scatter' phase. You simply step left or right and boom, you're behind a rather impervious pillar of life protecting goodness. Where-as getting in and out of that middle platform, in my experience has led to quite a many deaths. Be it by falling off, missing the jump, the shield going down while people are still on the platform (this is normally due to either Vengeance running out, or the Relic Holder letting it go too early), hell I've even seen people die, somehow, while standing inside the Vengeance Shield.
It's merely a thought. I've seen a few groups do it the 'middle platform way', I've seen people do it the 'out of a portal and straight behind a pillar' way, and I've been party to both methods myself once or twice. They both have their downsides, and neither of them is perfectly fail proof. But I feel the pillar method seems far safer, and a lot more newb/random friendly.

I've once seen it done where the relic team runs around the portal and purposely comes out facing atheon and sets up right there. When vengeance runs out a Titan drops a bubble right in the center of the portal without going through. When the relic disappears everyone can run back through the portal opening, and Titan shield, since all the portals are closed at this point.

I like the relic holder in the middle platform, myself. A cleanse should take place right before returning back through, helping prevent the disorientation. It helps to have a Titan drop his bubble towards the back of that middle platform as well, just before the relic shield goes down. This can help prevent senseless deaths due to the onslaught. Your method does seem sound, however, I believe a good many weapons will suffer damage fall-off from that distance. We had a guy in our party stating that his VMC was critting at half what he normally would have, and that was standing on the platform. Even further back as you suggest would possibly hurt those numbers even more? Testing needs done to be sure.

Edited by Reaper3354: 11/3/2014 8:50:08 AMThis is true, the damage fall off would be a sound point. But on that note, I've seen a coordinated group (Admiral Bahroo + King Gothalion and company) do it the 'hide behind the pillar' way seemingly without problem. One thing to note is that I've noticed (and used myself) Sniper Rifles, as well as Heavy Machine Guns, being used while inside the bubble, more than any other weapon. Which makes sense because as of right now Sniper rifles hit much harder than any other weapon. Especially if you crit. So the standard I've seen is that everyone in the bubble, pull out your sniper rifle, and hit that crit spot. Some people don't, maybe they think they know better, or don't like/use/have sniper rifles. But honestly, the majority of the runs I've done, involve as many as possible, if not everyone in the team, pulling out their ice breakers the moment they hit the bubble, and unloading hell on that sometimes hard to find crit spot. Which, generally with the right rifle, takes the 'range is an issue' argument and throws it out the window. Generally. In essence I believe it's really up to the team which place they want to set, which method they want to use, and how they deal with the possible risks of each situation. I've seen teams fail on the middle platform even with two titans throwing out bubbles. I've seen the middle platform fail without bubbles, and everyone as close in the bubble to the relic holder as possible. There's glitches, bugs, and random mishaps everywhere in the VoG so it's really just up to that particular team, at that particular moment. But some research, exploration, and what not is definitely needed. And I'm quite certain that soon enough there will be a general 'this is #1 method, done right = no fail' method, just as there is, as of right now, a standard understanding that everyone goes middle platform, relic bubble goes up, wail on Atheon, scatter at 3 seconds, try not to die and if you do die we'll get you on the next pass if we don't fail the next teleport instance.

I like your perspective. I agree on the whole sniper/LMG issue, as opposed to primary use (Except for VMC users). From what I've gathered and through personal experience, a sound approach could be: 1. Relic holder Pops the shield on the front right of the platform. 2. Everyone else in the bubble should crouch, helping to avoid splash damage from the wall on left side of platform. 3. Everyone else inside the bubble unloads on Atheon's Crit with Snipers and LMG. Hunter's use Golden Gun! 4. Around 3 sec left for Time's Vengeance, Defender Titan should pop a Weapons of Light Bubble at the rear of the platform just overlapping the Relic shield. 5. At expiry of T.V. Party moves to Titan bubble for safety. Titan bubble should last/protect until the warp occurs. A huge bonus to using the platform is that Supplicants cannot get to you and explode. When in the Titan bubble, stand near the outter edges, beacuse if the detainment shield is placed directly upon the Titan bubble, it's nearly impossible to shoot your way out.

Right, that seems to be the only advantage to it however. As, even with the bubble up, no matter where you are, stuff is going to happen or go wrong and someone will die. The only differences are that on the middle platform you have no supplicants, but you do have Atheon so reviving before another bubble gets there is nearly always suicide. On the other hand, doing it the other way, yes you have Supplicants, which now theoretically move the mishaps from Atheon, into the mishaps with Supplicants. However, you now have more cover to hide behind or run to, supplicants can be removed from the equation, and there's no lone platform to fall off/jump over/bounce off of/get spammed on by Atheon while attempting to revive downed teammates. Reviving is also somewhat safer because there's less risk of getting owned by anything but Supplicants, which with a watchful eye and keen awareness can become a non-issue most of the time. Like I said, it's honestly up to the group and what they feel comfortable with. I'm personally down with either method, I could care less; they each have their pros and cons.
