The guardians are not utilizing the limitless power of the Light. The Light is not the problem, it is the wielders that are limiting themselves in its use. Why do you think guardians want to use the Darkness? Balance is not needed, it is just an excuse used by those who think that the Light and Darkness are limited to the their perception and the laws of the universe.

Bro, you read my mind. We waste our power on emotes an stupid finishers thinking we have master control over the light. Look at what happened to ghaul when he got the light. He became so powerful that the traveler had to step in. We have a basic understanding of our powers. I would understand if we had full mastery of the light and it still wouldn't be enough, but we don't. A while back I had this idea of an expansion that would allow is to visit this region in asia where we would meet people who truly utilize the power of the light. They hid from the rest of the world because they felt like the world abandoned them. But anyways, not gonna go into full detail but long story short, we would meet one of their leaders and he would shame us for how we use the light. But then he would show us how to truly weild the light and teach us how to really connect with it. That's just a basic understanding of my "story". I called it D2: Renascent

Seems like an interesting idea, much better than what we got. I think guardians can be like mini Travelers, what Ghaul became is a distorted and watered down example of what we can become.
