If the Darkness caused the first collapse, how will we fair with one with ghosts and guardians? Is the Traveler not letting guardians utilize all the power they can get from it?

4 RepliesThe guardians are not utilizing the limitless power of the Light. The Light is not the problem, it is the wielders that are limiting themselves in its use. Why do you think guardians want to use the Darkness? Balance is not needed, it is just an excuse used by those who think that the Light and Darkness are limited to the their perception and the laws of the universe.

Yeah, probably in the expansion “ light fall “. Just a hunch though

The guardians didn’t exist when the first collapse happened. The ghosts were created as a last stitch effort by the traveller before going into hibernation. So we really have no idea.

Never forget that when the Pyramids were jumping from planet to planet, the Traveler stopped them dead in their tracks with a massive shield of Light.

Yup. I believe it will. Dark has consistently won every “engagement” with the light. Whirlwind Collapse Now The traveler flees from the darkness, because it cannot win. I believe this may have something to do with balance. After all, there are quite a few more triangles than spheres currently. The tree of silver wings on Io appeared to be an attempt to create another traveler. Or perhaps it was a necessary sacrifice in order to give the traveler time to heal. Either way the dark showed up and either destroyed or removed Io/the tree from the universe. If the traveler could stand toe to toe with the dark, it wouldn’t flee and it certainly wouldn’t have let the dark remove/obscure planets from our system. My hope is that Bungie takes this story to its conclusion, a hopeless struggle of the light, only to end in failure and death. But from that “death” a new timeline emerges. One where travelers outnumber pyramids and we play as darkness chosen guardians fighting against the oppressive light. Would make the shadowkeep scene of our dark guardian telling us it was our “salvation,” all the more relevant. Perhaps true balance is never attained, but always strove for. Symmetry.

2 RepliesEdited by Lore Oradon: 2/7/2021 7:20:11 AMGiven that there are multiple Sources of both Light and Dark are harmonious with each other, and that for years we were focusing on Adding Energy (Aka Light) very few learned how to Remove Energy (Aka Darkness) but it did Require Sacrifice or Loss(Dredgen Yor). Removing Energy requires a whole new system, Lessons as it is different than Adding Energy. Could very well be with the ghosts that they try to influence us to turn from the Dark(Except Drifters 😳) given if the Traveler wanted this, as we are Technically Stronger then both the Traveler and Black Fleet as both are within us. But we have yet to understand how to tap into the Energy itself without needing a Feeding Tube. As the Traveler showed it can Take back said Power, don't know though if it can do it to Chosen Guardians?
