Oryx coming just makes his death pointless. Kings fall was pointless. Hell crota could come back then. No hive can actually die, we are in a true endless war with the hive and the sword logic isnt as hard core as it is to believed.

Oryx ravenous heart is still alive.

Which could be his worm.

Edited by CAPTION THIS: 10/12/2018 2:52:34 PMNo his worm was destroyed. His ravenous heart is him. In the book of sorrows he came up with the idea of a weapon that can be used to satisfy his hunger so that he may remain immortal. He’s feeding off Guardian kills with the Touch of Malice like how Xols feeding off Guardian kills with the Whisper of the Worm. As long as these weapons exist Oryx and Xol are still alive.

<The shape of the heart begs to differ. It looks exactly the same as the shape the Worm took when we unloaded into it. And if the Heart of the Black Garden turns out to be the Worm Quria stole, which is highly likely, then that's further evidence.>
-
I don’t think the heart looks like the shape of a worm. When you kill a thrall a mass of black goo doesn’t shoot out of it. No. A worm burst out of a thrall. What we seen in the black garden could be apart of a larger entity. A shard of the darkness maybe?.... Oryx’s, being a agent of the darkness, heart could have become dark over the thousands of years he’s been alive. When we killed Xol he didn’t resemble a dark mass.
-
<Well, just pointing out that a Heart cannot be hungry and all signs point to the Touch of Malice being Oryx's Worm. From ammo count to abilities. Also literally how would the Vex get a shard of Darkness? It's suggested in the BoS even that it was the Worm Quria took for the purpose of study and worship.>
-
And what sign points to the ravenous heart being Oryx’s worm?? It doesn’t look like a worm. It doesn’t even take the shape of a worm. Oryx slew Akka the worm god so that he could commune with the deep and not through Akka so that he may obtain the power to take for himself. Wouldn’t you think that communing with the darkness personally would transform your heart into a black mass which resemble the Black Heart??
-
<The ammo count is pretty much a dead giveaway and how it ties into the perk. The damn thing extends your life when you feed it kills, LIKE A WORM. How about how every Worm uses Darkness on the daily. Or about how it's literally impossible for even a young Worm to be consumed WHOLE by a Thrall, no, younger, unless it reduces their size.>
-
Umm the Touch of Malice has two exotic perks: Touch of Mercy- Three rapid kills will return a portion of the wielder’s health. Touch of Malice- Final round of the magazine regenerates and deals a bonus damage at the cost of the wielders life force. Worms don’t extend the life of the hive. They were a price to pay in exchange for power and immortality granted by the worm gods. The worms inside the hive main purpose is to amass greater power for themselves not grant power which is why the hives worms are always hungry. When you literally kill a hive thrall in the game a small worm pops out. That’s is what a adolescent worm looks like. Oryx’s heart looks like a dark mass.
-
Take into your bodies our children, our newborn larvae. From them you shall obtain eternal life. From them you shall gain power over your own fragile flesh: the power to make of it as you will.
<The Worm larvae do make them immortal and they do give the Hive their power.>
-
Yea you’re right. Still I see no similarities between Oryx’s ravenous heart and a worm. What I do know is that Oryx was told my Akka that he couldn’t commune with the deep because his powers were granted not taken so Oryx slew Akka and communed with the deep so that he could gain the power to take for himself. Oryx’s heart resembles a blight not a worm.
-
The Vex didn’t retrieve the black heart, they stumbled upon it and due to how complex it was, they had no other choice than to worship it.
-
We dont actually know if the worm is dead. Also oryx himself doesn't feed like a worm. Oryx is dead and the weapon is just his legacy.
-
Oryx body was destroyed so too was his worm. If you read the Book of Sorrow it tells you what Oryx intended to do should he ever be defeated. Xol literally did the same thing. Become a weapon. Become stronger off the deaths (Sword Logic) made by that weapon in the hands of the guardian.

His body wasn't destroyed, it floated to saturn If you read the Book of Sorrow it tells you what Oryx intended to do should he ever be defeated. And armed thus with my past, and my future, and my present (which is a weapon, a weapon that takes whatever is available, a weapon bound to malice), they will mantle me, Oryx, the Taken King. They will become me and I will become them, each of us defeating the other, correcting the other, alloying ourselves into one omnipotent philosophy. Thus I will live forever. This is more a weapon that mantles what he believes in. It can be seen as him living forever expect the deep does not like weakness and oryx will b4me consumed the instant he loses. Xol literally did the same thing. Become a weapon. Become stronger off the deaths (Sword Logic) made by that weapon in the hands of the guardian.
What xol did proves nothing, as he follows a competely different set of rules. Also toland says the thing we faced wasn't even xol. "Were you tricked by the worm that chased the Warmind? Did you truly believe you'd fought one of the beings that the hive call gods? Ha!" - Toland

Xol follows the sword logic as well. Which is why he gifted Whisper to us. And as far as what Toland said, we can’t do to much with because we don’t have enough to go on. We could interpret what he said in so many ways.
Xol follows the sword logic as well. Expect xol doesnt follow the sword logic, the sword logic demands you shows that you are the strongest and xol didnt do that. He instead died and is using the guardians because they are stronger than him. Well his avatar. Which is why he gifted Whisper to us. And as far as what Toland said, we can’t do to much with because we don’t have enough to go on. We could interpret what he said in so many ways.
You mean ignore the words he is saying so it can fit into something he isnt saying.
-
Like I said what Toland said can be interpreted in many ways. We could have fought a husk of Xol or something else entirely, but as far as we know and because they’re so much lore in the game for Xol, all signs point to we fought Xol. And plus we know dealing with hive gods that they never truly die unless killed in the ascendant realm

I'll take what the hive lore pro over the competitor of the ahamakra any day.
