<Alright, so the pretty-much confirmed boss of DLC4 is Savathûn, the Witch Queen. But there's other points building up. Xivu Arath seems to, in some way, have joined the fight. Quria is also being built up as an agent AGAINST Savathûn.
So let's list a few possible outcomes and when the DLC comes around we'll see what sticks.
1. Xivu Arath isn't actually here. This is explained away be Savathûn making us think there's more to her army.
2. Xivu Arath goes to resurrect Oryx. The thought process here is remembering that Arath still loves her siblings, even in that twisted Hive manner. She's the most selfless of the 3 and having Oryx die leaves a rift.
3. Xivu Arath successfully resurrects Oryx. This delves into unlikely territory considering a few theories below and the fact that I don't think Bungie plans on bringing Oryx back. But what if?
4. Arath doesn't die. This scenario involves her escaping while Savathûn dies.
5. Xivu Arath gets Taken. Savathûn or Quria takes Xivu Arath after the latter fails at a major task, or simply because Savathûn does not care.
6. Xivu Arath dies with Savathûn. This would end the Hive.
7. Savathûn lets her emotions come out. This all plays on a potential that she's some kind of Azula-type villain but it may be unlikely. However, this would make her death similar to Oryx.
8. Savathûn dies. This is the most likely scenario out of everything here. She must die.
9. Savathûn wants to resurrect Oryx. This is the least likely scenario out of everything here.
10. Savathûn kills Xivu Arath. This is the same scenario as her Taking Arath, but killing instead.
11. Savathûn controls Quria fully. This would be after the latter reveals itself to not be fully trustworthy.
12. Ur, the Ever Hunger shows up. In Ananh shows allegiance to Ur and Savathûn's decisions are viewed by Ur. He may show his face.
13. Quria turns out to be a good guy. This would give a first instance of truly allied Vex, even if Taken.
14. Quria can Take completely without assistance. This may lead to other scenarios like Savathûn being Taken but that's unlikely.
15. Quria takes control over the Taken. This would rift the Taken and Hive relationship.
16. Quria dies. Nothing left to say on that matter.
17. Quria is true neutral. It fights against us and Savathûn.
18. The Vex help us.
Like I mentioned these are just possible scenarios and there's no way in hell ALL of this can happen, but some of it just might.

I don’t think we’ll be seeing another worm god, having Savathûn and Quria and possibly Xivu Arath is plenty already.

12 RepliesThere is no dlc4. The next big release is D3, with the 3 annual pass releases before it.

Edited by Ninja_Lazer: 10/13/2018 6:38:43 AMOryx can't be resurrected. Unlike when Savathun and Xivu Arath were brought back from deaths within their throne worlds', Oryx's death was different. In besting him, we didn't simply kill him; we proved that he was not part of the final perfect shape. By the Hive's very own sword logic, he was deemed unworthy. The worm that he had a symbiotic relationship with recognized this failure and consumed him. So even if Auryx could be brought back, S/he wouldn't be Oryx as the connection to the deep was terminated by the worm - who acts as a proxy for the deep.

1 ReplyEdited by Neon: 10/15/2018 4:00:10 PMCrazy theory but.... What if when Riven's curse was released, it actually escalated all the way up to the week 3 curse(the most corrupted week of the dreaming city, and every other 3rd week), then it was actually Quria that reset it back to week one? Think about it, we've fought the same things and gone through the same events twice now. The same missions, same enemies, same relics being stolen in the same exact spots by the SAME exact eenemies. Vex are closely associated with time. Quria is a powerful vex. Taken now, but still a vex. Quria doesn't like the hive. This could be his way of helping us slowly determine wtf is going on as the clock resets over and over until the next dlc. In the Oracle mission for the 2nd set of 3 weeks(probably one of the most intesne dc boss fights btw) its mentioned that Osiris even claims this as a Vex type phenomenon. Ghost claims this isnt vex, and thats probably because we arent even in the infinite forest, nor are there any physical vex there(taken ones dont count). So the vex is far from our minds. But why is the curse resetting? Wouldnt it just get stronger? Is Quria saving us and the dreaming city by constantly resetting the curse? One flaw I see with this is that the dialogue is different each time we play through the missions. If its a time loop, wouldnt the dialogue be the same? Why is the same corsair down in the same spot saying different dialogue in the same mission? Even she's aware that everything literally happen a few weeks back the exact same way as she states that alll of this has happened already. I think it'd be pretty cool to have Quria as some potential ally in the future. The whole of destiny 2 has been us gathering allies from across the Sol system again. A woke traveler, Calus, Osiris, Ana and Rasputin, the awoken fleet(or what remains) mara and her throne world which may come to use, Toland(even though we havent seen him at all), possibly that fgt Spider, the Drifter and his idea of using the darkness(which if u read his lore, he believes it can be used the same way as the light, but with dark, which makes him a shady figure amongst other guardians. he believes the traveler failed us during the red war, and turned his eye to the power of the darkness, which are the motes we always bank. im sure he's going to use those one day and we might not get anymore gambit afterwards). We're making so many allies and I can't wait to see how things wrap up in destiny 3. Even if the game is shit...in the words of Spider, "I cannot wait to see how this ends." P.S: It is possible for a taken to have free will. So this quria theory only applies if the he has free will as a taken.

2 RepliesQuria tells us that since it was Taken it doesn't think like a Vex anymore. It views itself as its own being. So if it really is working against Savathun (and that's a big IF because there's still a strong chance Quria is manipulating us on behalf of Savathun) I think it'd be cool to see Quria become an ally. Being a Taken, it is a creature of Darkness, but it could be a necessary evil for the fight against Savathun.

2 RepliesHow is Savathûn and Oryx related? Someone educate me please!
-
You’d have to literally rewrite sword logic to bring Oryx back. Unless of course it’s just his body being used as a puppet of some kind and he’s not really alive. I’d be I interested to see one of the remaining hive ‘queens help us.’ Like them saying “I hate you guardians...you in particular (meaning our character.) but right now....our goal is the same.”. Better yet have it be left up to us as a player if we accept the help or not.

1 ReplyEdited by Invectiv: 10/13/2018 12:27:08 PMNah they won’t resurrect oryx, it’s a direct defiance of their sword logic, oryx died a true death in his throne world unlike the deaths dealt to them by oryx, they won’t bring him back, more likely we just have to work our way up to quria because it’s the reason the taken even still exist, and then we’ll piss the sisters off yada yada yada then incoming taken king trailer with their faces...”you killed her nephew, then her nieces, then her brother, now the taken sister queens comes for us all”
-
4 RepliesWe’re not gonna get any of that though. Didn’t Bungie say when they announced the annual pass that they’re going to be moving away from story and campaign based dlcs for year 2?
-
2 RepliesAlright, alright, alright! Let’s see what we’ve got!
TWO HIVE QUEENS, A TAKEN VEX MIND, THE ENTIRE VEX COLLECTIVE, THE CABAL EMPIRE, THE FALLEN, DARK GUARDIANS, SCORN, A FEW WORM GODS, A LOT OF HIVE, TONS OF TAKEN, THE NINE, SIVA, THE DARKNESS AND SOME TRIANGLE SHIPS ON THE FIELD!
I’ve seen [A LOT OF -blam!-ING ALIENS], but damn, [THERE SURE ARE A LOT OF THESE GUYS]!
-
5 RepliesI think it would be cool to fight Quria for the final mission then get a small glimpse of Savathun and Xivu Arath. Then fight them both in the fight in the same encounter. We’ve never had two bosses at once. I think it would be very unique and throw off a lot of players.

25 RepliesOryx is the best destiny villian so far, I hope he comes back
-
So a fouth dlc well lets hope they make it good i dont want another mess up of a dlc
-
3 RepliesI see you referenced Avatar the Last Airbender with Savvy being Azula. I'll reference Bleach as it's where I base my idea from. Basically Savvy is Aizen, Quria is Gin and Xivu is Tousen.
-
One Word
Dreadnaught
-
I’m thinking if Oryx comes back, the only way we’ll win is by tricking them into killing each other permanently before facing one (likely Savathûn) in the raid (or maybe we even trick them in the raid).

2 RepliesEdited by Pippo: 10/13/2018 11:50:58 AMAlright?
All right, all right, all right, let's see what we've got... all right on the horizon!
... sorry.

19 RepliesOryx coming just makes his death pointless. Kings fall was pointless. Hell crota could come back then. No hive can actually die, we are in a true endless war with the hive and the sword logic isnt as hard core as it is to believed.
-
1 ReplyIn a way I guess a vex is helping with quria as it’s quria that set up the time loop for us to find a way to defeat savathun
-
2 RepliesIf you take a look at the post credits scene from destiny 2's red war story that forshadowed every expansion location until now, according to that we are going to the dreadnaught next september again. Savathun and Xivu might be there
-
5 RepliesI don't even know if any of the Big Three (I guess Big Two now) even CAN be Taken. First, they're so immensely powerful they may be able to just reject being 'grabbed'. And even if they are Grabbed, the very next thing is the Deep convincing them to take their perfect shape. And I'm not even sure if THAT would work.

Given the baseline dialogues for whatever seems to be on the farside of Mercury in space... I'll wait to reserve judgment over what the next DLC will be till we get closer to it. There's far too many actors, players, and details out and about for this all to be a coincidence. That the Deep beings are still in play collectively as well worries me. I'm not so sure if the Vex isn't going to overpower the Taken just yet... There are far too many subtle shades in each area waiting to line up in a circle by my look at the lore.

4 RepliesXivu Arath is all about War and fighting, and she wanted vengeance for her father's death, but she held up on the Sword Logic to some degree, but I hardly remember her ever willingly putting her siblings in danger. It was mainly Oryx and Savathun who willingly tried to kill one another and actually helped each other strangely enough. She'll either fight us out of vengeance but won't be bested because of her emotions because she seems to thrive off her own emotions, or she'll have respect for her having bested her brother and want to still fight us because she likes fighting, and we would love it too tbh. If we do deal with Savathun, we will definitely kill her and I feel like Quria won't turn against us because that Deep Pyramid (we need to name that ship imo, like the Traveler has a name sort of) is coming with its dark forces. That's our true nemesis, so once we've finally dealt with the Hive and Taken; we don't get much respite because we'll probably be in a somewhat closing act for the franchise no? I know D3 is coming, but if we get into war with the Darkness/Deep, the game will reach a climax. It only makes sense that we would bring the Hive to an end because we already know their beginning, and I believe the Books of Sorrow to be their species'/race's death flag lol. The Eliksni, Cabal and Vex don't have to be wiped out for us to continue on because while we're not friends with them; they are just kind of there, and they possibly exist in our future and we could sorta thrive with them there, just gotta be careful. The Hive are different though; they work for the end of us and every other being in this system because that's just what they are.
-
I doubt Savathûn would try to bring back Oryx, Xivu might but she will fail as he died his true death in his Throne world. We'll probs kill both sisters in the Raid. Hopefully Quria is a Dungeon boss. I kind of want to go to war against the Axis minds, that's just me though.

Edited by FIGHT TO WIN55: 10/12/2018 3:19:08 AMThe overall theme for the game as I see it is that humanity has been gaining power with every expansion. Destroying Gods, making allies, awakening Rasputin (who sets up his own defense), awakening the traveler and even beginning to recolonize earth. I played a lot of Gambit and the Drifter's dialogue for all our enemies in the system are a testament of how humanity is now the dominant force. "The Cabal are on their last legs now" "The Fallen are now under one desperate house, what did you do?" "The hive fear you, you did kill their Gods" "I'm surprised there are still Scorn left" "If they Vex can manipulate time, why can't they win?" He also frequently remarks how powerful the city has become through lore tabs and dialogue since he was last in the system. It doesn't seem like there are any more real threats within the solar system. The only group that still has power is hive once Savathun arrives and possibly the Vex. I think they are preparing humanity for an external, final confrontation.

2 RepliesI'd love a plot like #3 except Oryx joins the fight on our side. Xivu Arath brings Oryx back; but because Oryx's long-seeded hatred for his sister(s) and "blasphemous" outlooks on resurrection according to the Hive, ends up fleeing back to his Dreadnaught where he tries rebuilding what's left of his army. But because Savathûn has taken Oryx's place as a new Taken King/Queen and he no longer has the Worm inside him, he forcibly seeks out aid from the only ones he thinks are capable of defeating his sisters: us Guardians. While Oryx won't forgive us for killing his son, he decides it's better to focus on what lies ahead instead of dwelling on horrible past deeds.
it sounds a little unlikely, but i think it'd be awesome. :D
