It was easier to main the relic at the templar with a warlock while everyone else was up top sniping oracles. Self res also made it easier to solo both gatekeepers, and in the early stages of vog it was warlock's solar grenade that was used to cheese atheon off the ledge. That being said, i prefer my titan and hunter to my warlock in general, but warlocks played a key role when vog first came out
