Ever hear of Cargo Cults? During WWII, US troops occupied several islands inhabited by isolated tribes. They gave things to the locals. After the war, the troops left. The local tribes didn't understand where these magical beings that brought things from the sky had gone. In an effort to bring them back, they tried to re-create US army bases. They marched around with sticks like the soldiers they had seen. They built airplanes out of sticks. The point of mentioning all this? It shows how ridiculous these fad religions look and sound when you view them from the outside. When weirdo Barbie girl is talking about her spiritual breakthroughs, all I can picture is some poor tribesman in the middle of the ocean constructing a stick plane hoping the US military gods will once again visit him.

i have heard of cargo cults, maybe even from the same book as you! but this is not a cargo cult, its not even a cult at all. these are just people listening to and taking guidance from someone that makes extraordinary claims. i'm a skeptical thinker for the most part. but i've always been somewhat spiritual. maybe like transcendentalism spiritual. all she does for me is explain things i have been witness, and she does so in a strikingly reasonable manner. honestly if she wasn't so obsessed with being as close to a synthetic human as possible, i probably wouldn't care so much. but bodies don't attract me, minds do, and hers is all kinds of the most erotic weirdness that i've ever seen. and that includes her doll-like mannerisms
