Allowing enhanced perks on crafted weapons was a mistake.

I'd say either everything is enhancable, or nothing is. I'd be fine with RNG rolls being enhancable immediately (i.e. no levelling and fewer material requirements), and I'd be fine with removing the glimmer-&-core levelling for crafted weapons. I'm not against crafted weapons being grindy; what I am against is RNG being the only option.

Crafting is there to make sure everyone has a consistent path to good weapons, not the best weapons.

I agree with this. Crafted weapons should not be better than random rolls.

I agree. By making the crafted weapons better than the random drops, they killed the loot chase and any excitement of new rolls once you got your 5 red drops. It probably would have been much better if it had released without enhanced perks on crafted weapons, but with the current random loot enhancing system. It does look like they will be expanding on the random loot to make them more desirable in Frontiers with additional enhanceable columns, so we might be in a world where crafted weapons are 95% of the way to the god roll and there is still a chance of a random drop being better than the crafted.
