I'm complete casual in the game these days but I've heard that the more active/hardcore players aren't fans of weapon crafting because drops are useless after getting five red borders. Personally, I love weapon crafting, maybe it's just in my head but it seems less daunting than grinding random drops for a god roll so I would hate for it to go away. Maybe there's a compromise though.
Weapon levelling is pretty pointless. Most people, even the most casual like me I'm assuming just spend mats to level the weapon or load up a shuro chi checkpoint. What if weapon levelling was removed and instead you had to extract perks from weapons in order to unlock them for crafting and you could only choose one to extract from each weapon? Maybe you even need to do this multiple times to unlock the perk idk.
On top of this, as a sort of catch up mechanic like if you didn't unlock all the perks and the weapon was no longer obtainable. Banshee (or someone else) would sell an item that lets you instantly unlock a perk of your choice. This item could be expensive and use a limited currency like prisms, shards or something that can't be stockpiled. This would also allow you to almost play any activity and still feel like there's a path to unlocking the perks you wanted just in a less efficient way.
Completely random shower thought but just an idea.

I wish every weapon was craft-able. My vault is full of duplicates of the same weapon because they all have something I like, but none have it all.

Nah it’s definitely just people who have more time on their hands wanting something to do. Grinding guns out in the current game feels horrible. Content is far too repetitive and tedious for how unrewarding the game is. Crafting is a way to let you enjoy the things you want to enjoy without the fear of never getting it or the massive time sink. Don’t get me wrong, it still takes time to get the patterns for weapons. But at least you can get what you want and enjoy the game instead of playing something until you hate it because you can’t get the weapon drop you want.

Weapon Crafting felt kinda special, like finally achieving a prized weapon. Getting Five red borders may have been much if RNG wasn't favorable but getting the pattern was a great achievement. I don't do Raids or Dungeons but I guess that Weapon Crafting will be focused there and probably Exotic Missions. For practical reasons, I like the variety of Perks and I have changed a few of them on some weapons. Oh well... Maybe Solo Ops could have a Crafted Weapon Prize.

The people that advocated for the loss of crafting do not belong specifically to the most ardent/active players. Just a select group of people that equate endless grinds with "fun". Influenced by their respective "content" creators. Gamblers. Addicts.

i maybe a casual but i was happy with weapon crafting.

I love crafting. Its by far the best addition to the game ever.

1 RespuestaIf the streamers don't like crafting just don't use it. Why does Bungie have to take it out of the game. If raids are too easy stop using the things that make it easy. Streamers cry over things in the game and they get removed, when they could just as easily stop using them on their own. The bigger question is why does Bungie listen to these people?

For me I'm fine with seasonal weapons being craftable since the content will rotate out, so if you missed the season or something you can still get good rolls. Making everything craftable however doesn't provide a chase and personally gives me zero motivation or incentive to do content like raids after I get my red borders.

3 RespuestasI would be fine with crafting if it took more deep sight to unlock. 5 is too few to get exactly what you want imo. Make it 20 if its still RNG or 50 if it's a guaranteed focusable red border every time the weapon drops and have the random drop be a shortcut that can be enchanced like we have now. That would make the RNG of getting the weapon you want be a SHORTCUT and not completely dependent on RNG. I'd rather have a limited time, have 2 weapons drops and have that contribute to the 50 and then me have to go do something else. Because at least then I know I didn't waste time if it were to be RNG based.

4 RespuestasAllowing enhanced perks on crafted weapons was a mistake.

Honestly for me, I think the system is somewhat fine (yeah the leveling thing is kind of stupid with how little exp you get compared to just drop a munch of materials into them), but I don't understand the want for such a grind. Getting a god roll is stupid, getting 5 red boarders takes forever when you don't have harmonizers, and even drop rates for dungeon/raid exotics are stupidly low. Part of my like for the crafting system was for this. I could get the weapon I want and be done with the grind. After that, if the activity is fun, I would stick around and do it again. If the activity is not fun, I just don't play it again as I have the weapon craftable so I never have to do a terrible activity again and go back to fun ones. Recently for me a lot of activities have just not been fun as it just either takes forever or is overloaded with bs that even trying to get these things just doesn't feel worth it and is just Bungie wanting high player numbers to look relavent despite the lowest player count in the history of Destiny.

Good day Guardian! I would say I'm an active/hardcore D2 player, and originally, I had very much enjoyed crafting. Now that I've had some time with the system, I'm not that big a fan of it, or at least the way it currently stands.

My issue is this will create the same problem where you scrap everything and don't care about the random rolls, despite not having a real use case for the 1% better stats you get.
-
2 RespuestasI'll say for my opinion that this is what kinda killed the game for me. It's nice to have the best crafted weapon after getting it craftable. But after a while, it makes me not want to farm anything. There are other things in the game that made me quit, but weapon crafting is in the top for having me quit the game.
-
Crafting just makes the RNG loot grind completely pointless. Thanks to crafting, we are way too powerful. I have no incentive to try new builds except for fun factor. I can just craft whatever I need.
-
26 RespuestasGet real excited after that easy 5th red border do ya? Crafting isn’t it. At least crafting as we have now.
-
I don't think weapon crafting is necessary the problem, I think the ehanced perks were a detriment to the weapon economy at the time. But bungie has made significant strides in enhancing weapons that aren't available to be craftable. Treating crafting as a catchup mechanic makes sense on paper. But it's not enjoyable with such blatantly obvious weighted drops

Editado por Raijinmeister: 10/25/2024 5:09:40 PMCrafting is great. With that in mind, BUNGIE should introduce more adept weapons in the game with exclusive perk pools to appease the hard cores who want to chase their 5/5 god roll, and with exclusive perks, they would get some extra for their time investment. Win-win.
-
I think Bungie needs to find a happy medium to appease everyone. My idea of that happy medium would be that each season has a handful of weapons are craftable but the majority are not. I'd say a solid 4 weapons for crafting and then 8-12 only from rolls. Looking back at Echoes, I think the failsafe weapons were backwards. In my opinion, the reprised Saint-14 weapons should have been craftable, and the new vex weapons should have been random rolls only. The handful of craftable weapons gives the player a short-term goal, and then the rest of the weapons can be medium- or long-term goals.

Why don't we just bring back vanilla D2 when everyone has the same guns. Crafting is the same logic. lame and boring everyone has the same things.
