That is why I, a player like you (I got 8000 hours in the Destiny franchise) , don’t grind activities anymore. I just mess around in between. Bit of PvP, bit of fragment unlocking, bit of Dual exotic, bit of this bit of that and then I log off. 1 Vex mission , 2 at most. And not daily, no, when I feel like it.
Why are people making the game repetitive to themselves, I know I get bored/burned out doing the same activity for hours. Like a checklist. I saw streamers having this checklist of exotic class items they MUST get, and then run the mission 40 times in a row. Yeah, no -blam!-, after that you’ll never want to do that mission again. Perhaps do a few raids, do whatever, but if you’re doing the same activity over and over and then say “this sucks” that’s on you I guess. Never do something because you feel like you have to do it. I do two of those HELM activities in a row every couple of days at most, and with people who do it properly. And we do it with voice chat, and try to have fun doing it. Same with the Coil, or a new dungeon. I don’t get why people go do Coils all day for a week and then say its boring. Hello?! Or the new Dungeon. Or what ever really. It’s just one activity out of so many, I’m sure you don’t have everything from everywhere yet; why don’t you just mess around a little, make some fun builds you designed and enjoy some casual stuff, or just take a break.
I know Onslaught burned me out to a crisp, I played that for 300 hours trying to get BRAVE drops, and do I use them much? Barely lol. Blast furnace and Hammerhead, thats about it. Falling Guillotine for speedy play. I use maybe 3-5 shinies and the other 30+ are rotting in the vault.
I saw streamers having this checklist of exotic class items they MUST get, and then run the mission 40 times in a row.
A lot of the more popular streamers have brought this on themselves. It has become more of a job for them rather than a pastime. They have become more of a franchaise than reviewers or critics. They never report the negatives within the community or the game itself, and have to be one step in front of the player base to release daily content, and to keep their carry services on a constant treadmill. In return for their faithfulness, they get limited edition freebies and early game access, and arguably have an influence on new content and it's difficulty levels. I try to look for the less popular streamers now, who give honest reviews and reports, rather than the would-be Destiny "sales reps".

The funny thing is, Saltagreppo (someone hated for causing “The Div nerf”) would be exactly who you’re looking for.

I don't follow him as I thought he was one of the more established and popular streamers. I'm done with watching half an hour of someone steamrollering other players in crucible with meta loadouts and the newest weapons, while telling you that you need this and need that, and have to do this activity. I prefer the lesser known guys, with a modest following, who give it to you straight without any frills, and don't try to sign you up with carry services and emblem givaways.

Well, he’s just what you’re looking for. He does low mans though, but doesn’t care about subs or promos. There’s more like him, personally though I don’t watch streamers this early in a new expansion, kinda ruins the fun for myself. I usually start watching them when I get bored, farther in the season. As you said, the bigger ones are playing it like a chore. Aztecross is also fun to watch, as he just plays with a more optimistic attitude. Most builds/content is already explored, for PvP streamers I can recommend Zk or Benny. But at this point I’m not watching twitch for another few months probably. No point In watching someone grind the same activity over and over just so they can poop out a new Youtube vid on a class item or crafted gun just for the sale of weekly or bi weekly uploading. The bigger they get the more it becomes about promotions, and buying merch. Same with GernaderJake, he often admits it is just a job and that he’s scared to move to other games. Gladd did that but whenever he plays D2 he just had a checklist he gets done, again playing like it’s a chore. And then all the regular viewers, some with 2000-4000+ hours watched. Idk how you get enjoyment out of seeing someone else grind a game.

I don't watch to see them grind a game that I play myself. I watch for any new discoveries, or secrets, even spoilers. But recently I've been watching to see reports on the game itself and how streamers portray the game after important updates or changes. Only a very small percentage have the guts to tell it as it is, and these are the ones with a very small following and are not sponsered by the games they review. It's more research than viewing.

Streamers don’t know much either; most of them run subpar builds without even setting proper armor mods. Talking about the top20 D2 streamers here, their chat has to constantly help them lmao. They know as much as a quick google search. They’re streamers. It’s their job to entertain, I just can’t stand the subpar quality they provide. That or their egos are inflated to the max, and don’t you dare point that out, their chat will decimate you lmao. Or they have a hypetrain level 10-15 going and act all dry about it. That and the new trend of taking constant long breaks live on stream. Recording their yt vids live on stream, just trying to grab as much money as possible

How dare you suggest people take responsibility for their own state of mind? It's not their fault they're doing the same thing they find boring over and over until they feel miserable. It's not like there are other things to do with their time. It's those damn developers!

All bungie give is doing the same activity until you feel miserable though, no wonder
