I was thinking back over the past (enter number here) seasons, and essentially every single one is the same repetitive "offensive" with one or two unique twists that set it apart from previous seasons.
This is coming from a long time player who is addicted to the game, so maybe your data shows this works for casual players, but I just feel like instead of this empty / hollow activity cycle, you'd be better off putting your developers to work adding in quality, permanent things like new strikes, adding back vaulted planets, etc.
I completely understand the workload between those two things (repeatable cookie-cutter activity vs high-quality missions and patrol zones) is vastly different, but exploring the derelict leviathan as someone who joined right as that stuff was vaulted still sticks with me. Mars coming back for that battlegrounds sticks with me.
I'm going to completely forget about this Nessus activity once the season leaves.
Do more of that is my feedback, basically.

This is a 10/10 expansion. I think you’re making this up pilgrim!

3 RespuestasTrue. And the core of the game has barely seen a true lick of pain. Crucible is concentrated dogfart for the most part. Strikes are still meh. I'm not sure what "My" endgame is anymore. It used to be ; try out loot in the Crucible whilst drinking beer. Do a few nightfalls etc, solo some activities. Now it just seems... I can't even put my finger on it!
-
11 RespuestasWhat's going to make this even worse is that they adding 3 MORE Battlegrounds in Act 2..
-
Seasonal activities need their own pathfinder, grind to power and pin cap is played out now and even worse now that everything is an exotic engram instead of an instant drop, tower, activity, tower, activity, activity, tower, activity. So dead.

3 RespuestasEditado por whateverman7: 6/21/2024 4:44:17 PMYall need to stop lol. When they put things in the game that stay around, yall don't play it, i.e. gambit, pvp, raids, dungeons, strikes, etc. And talking about bringing old stuff back, for what? So yall won't play that neither lol. These seasonal activities serve their purpose: something quick and easy that provides loot. They've been like that since they first introduced them, and that's ok. They don't need to 'stick with you' nor be anything more complicated than that.
-
uhm.....
acktshually... its called episodic activity. thank you for letting me wasting your time by opening this spoiler
-
This has been a problem since the advent of the seasonal model. Episodes is the seasonal model with lipstick. The worst part is that Bungie has stopped producing strikes and just pushes these activities into the strike playlist.
-
We all knew this was the endgame once they went free to play. Gamers are on the losing side of content vs profits.
-
I miss the 6 player activities. 3 player match made activities often end up with players working against each other, because they have different goals, skills, or knowledge of the event. Seems like every one has better players upset with new or less knowledgeable players. Something that is not as prevalent in the larger 6 player activity.

1 RespuestaI would like all seasonal activities to be available, that way we don't get bored of the current one. Some of the past seasonal activities have good replayability once you've taken a break from them. Some of the encounters in Savathun's Altars are ones that comes to mind.
-
imo episodes and seasons shouldn't include new activities outside of story missions and the exotic mission. All those other activities should be either a strike or patrol destination update(new vendor weapons/armor, updated public events and some new stuff for the patrol either a public event or new lost sectors or even something like little secrets added to destinations like collectibles and lore.) All of it should be permanent additions too, also helps bulk up the new player experience with more to grind and content to play.

And they almost never were At least we don't have to visit the raid destination and comfort hungry hive... It's ok little thrall. Ill find a nice juicy worm for ya!

Personally I loved the coil. Perfect balance of scaling diffocult and power trough wishes upgrades. Fun encounters with light puzzling. Opportunity to test and find success with all kinds of buiulds. A little bit of variety trough randomized path. I personally hate this echoes activity. I don t like the over reliance on relics, I feel likes my deaths are artificial (shocker I wanted to try my prismatic build and not use the synapse lance who would have guess? Too bad 1 milion damage is coming your way on enemies wave spawn without a relic you are death). The final stage puzzle encounters are unbalanced and just boring to solve. (I have to insta delete the enemies as they spawn..... how engaging.) Also I don't like the lack of variety. All the runs all the same besides the collectring data area being some place else.

4 RespuestasThis is why Gambit and Crucible needs to be a major focus. Straight PVE will ALWAYS get boring. Imagine a season where crucible you get big team battles. 12 man pve activity? How about 36 man class battles to see -blam!- supreme. Massive maps, and class winner at the end of the season gets an epic exotic if you contributed. Or a season where gambit is scaled up like that 12 man mission. More hectic, better rewards, it's own exotic again. Instead we keep getting these tired pve centric activities that nobody cares about so they force a time gate so they can keep player counts up longer

9 RespuestasThat is why I, a player like you (I got 8000 hours in the Destiny franchise) , don’t grind activities anymore. I just mess around in between. Bit of PvP, bit of fragment unlocking, bit of Dual exotic, bit of this bit of that and then I log off. 1 Vex mission , 2 at most. And not daily, no, when I feel like it. Why are people making the game repetitive to themselves, I know I get bored/burned out doing the same activity for hours. Like a checklist. I saw streamers having this checklist of exotic class items they MUST get, and then run the mission 40 times in a row. Yeah, no -blam!-, after that you’ll never want to do that mission again. Perhaps do a few raids, do whatever, but if you’re doing the same activity over and over and then say “this sucks” that’s on you I guess. Never do something because you feel like you have to do it. I do two of those HELM activities in a row every couple of days at most, and with people who do it properly. And we do it with voice chat, and try to have fun doing it. Same with the Coil, or a new dungeon. I don’t get why people go do Coils all day for a week and then say its boring. Hello?! Or the new Dungeon. Or what ever really. It’s just one activity out of so many, I’m sure you don’t have everything from everywhere yet; why don’t you just mess around a little, make some fun builds you designed and enjoy some casual stuff, or just take a break. I know Onslaught burned me out to a crisp, I played that for 300 hours trying to get BRAVE drops, and do I use them much? Barely lol. Blast furnace and Hammerhead, thats about it. Falling Guillotine for speedy play. I use maybe 3-5 shinies and the other 30+ are rotting in the vault.

2 RespuestasThese seasonal activities are basically just copy paste and boring AF at this point. I'd rather see them spend some time bringing back old strikes/making new strikes, adding strike based loot back into the game like we had back after Rise of Iron/Age of Triumph and just overall finding ways to have more unique experiences in the game. The Pale Heart feels so empty and boring after you get most of the initial quests done, it isn't like the Dreadnought, which felt much more alive and was a social zone with lots of stuff to look for and the ability to jump into a Court of Oryx run if you saw other people doing it, etc. We need more zones and things that enable spontaneous participation. This is going to sound dumb/nostalgic, but man I miss the days when you'd just be running through the Cosmodrome and a Fallen spider tank dropped in, but at the same time you had the giant Taken boss also spawn in the area and the Fallen and Taken were fighting each other and then the guardians would show up and fight both...things like that felt a lot more fun and engaging back in the day. That's something that has been sorely missing from D2.

2 RespuestasWhat? You mean you didn't enjoy the mission where you shot a laser at a mirror a billion times last week? Surely you enjoyed the "find a thing three times in different spots" mission this week? How dare you?

3 Respuestasafter slogging through 10 years of mediocre storytelling, we finally limped to the finish line, dragged ourselves across it and the best idea they had was for us to collect rocks and plants

We are witnessing the slow deaththrobs of Destiny, so the witness won after all.

Editado por Mark, Scholar of Stars: 6/20/2024 3:48:53 PMIt's not healthy, if you always eat the same. And that's what's on Bungie's menu since a long time: always (eat) the same.
-
1 RespuestaWell said. This game has been lacking creative NEW activities.
-
1 RespuestaEditado por Wanderer: 6/19/2024 7:14:39 PMI miss the patrol zone from Haunted season. This season fireteam thing feels like another override fireteam mission. I've gotten really sick of those.

7 RespuestasAlone in the Dark was so GD repetitive to get khostov…Jesus it sucked…also the coop thing is trash….turn matchmaking on!
-
1 RespuestaCan’t be. Game is a 10/10. I think you’re mistaken fella.
-
Forget all you want. Bungie will remind you in due time anyways. Just look, half this episode is just copied straight from the Splicer season (like the whole protocol mode).

1 Respuestajust modern live service game design generate a mediocre amount of new content, the less spent on it the better, and then stretch it out to the n'th degree with grinds to make players repeat it til they loathe it they only care about chasing metrics, and /timeplayed is directly connected to increased cash shop buys the end goal is cash shop buys, which means they chase metrics, which means they like grinds that burnout players, which means they like the least amount of new content possible to support the grinds
