I don’t play crucible much at all, but I think what you are suggesting is just unfair.
Trials is hugely popular among PVPers, it’s their endgame, it’s supposed to be hard and super competitive.

Destiny has a fundamental problem with PvP - because it’s not the main reason people play Destiny it gets flooded with noobs and casuals that are just easy prey to regulars that play daily... As a result being great at Destiny PvP doesn’t mean anything- it just means you’re good enough to take down the casuals that come only for the PvP loot... Time to rethink the whole PvP thing - take it out of the main game and make it it’s own thing...tired of having weapons nerfed and sunset in an effort to make this game mode viable... Trials just shows what the top tier in PvP actually is - and whatever it is, it’s not good for the game...

Now separating PvP from PVE is something a lot of people have wanted for a long time, including myself. But until bungie do that, and I don’t think they will, what do you replace trials with as an endgame activity? Taking into consideration how long it could take to create. Every competitive PVP game ever has cheating/hacking/account shenanigans going on, hell, in the game I play for PvP there are cheaters that are internet famous and pro players are actually scared of them. So should the gaming industry just give up with PvP just because there are cheaters?

You can't have a looter shooter with loot tied to a toxic game mode.

Bungie aren’t leveraging their abilities to create events very well. Bungie should have a weekly evolving event that changes, like Iron Banner. It would solve a lot of these problems if it only came every month or two and was more inclusive to the entire community. Gambit, Trials, Iron Banner, even reprised sunset strikes and nightfalls should be added as commonly occurring events for the ENTIRE community - not just the top tier. You want old trials to stay? Make it a once every month or two month occurrence that goes for a week, make a match made freelance version and leave the original intact for those that want adept weapons. It would take the fatigue out of some of those regular activities, make them more of an actual event and less predictable to game or cheat them.. Bungie are a live service and outside of seasonal events and iron banner don’t do much to remind us of that fact...

You make some good points, I don’t know how difficult it would be to have weekly evolving events though and continue to make regular content as well? I’m not entirely sure the PvP community would like their pinnacle activity to be every few months though, how would you feel about raids once every few months? I still think that until it can be replaced properly bungie should attempt to fix it and keep it in the game for those players who look forward to playing it.

You base your argument on a false premise, it wasn't 70% of all flawless, it was 70% of pc flawless. The rest of us play the game mode like normal.

So what endgame do pvpers have then? I watched someone Friday night play for hours on pc and he didn’t see one cheater, I’m not saying there aren’t cheats but to say it’s full of them is a gross exaggeration.

So far this weekend: PC: 32,500 Lighthouse visitors - 10,465 without a kill (32%) Xbox: 4293 Lighthouse visitors - 1471 without a kill (39%) Playstation: 7296 Lighthouse visitors - 2741 without a kill (35%) Stadia: 621 Lighthouse visitors - 323 without a kill (54%) This is a truly broken format. It's time to call it a day Trials is FULL of cheats.

These numbers are not cheaters. They are people that were doing the Hakke win trading cheese that has not actually been fixed yet. This is the same reason trials was disabled. If people were cheating, they would have a lot kills, just close to zero deaths

Win trading is cheating, hence why trials has been taken down.

It is exploiting, yes, but it is not directly cheating. Cheating is manipulating the game code in an unintended way (i.e. aimbot, wall hacks, infinite lives, infinite heavy, etc). Nothing in the win trading exploit is using something not normally doable within the game. I still believe Hakke win trading is bad and is a very valid reason to take trials down, but it is not directly cheating and it is likely players will not be banned for it.

I really don’t want to be on this guys side, and I’m absolutely not, but utilising exploits is in fact cheating.

Technically, yes. Taking 12 people into a raid is an exploit, and exploits are cheating. However, Bungie have addressed the exploit and openly said they don’t mind people doing this before they are able to fix it. They however, don’t endorse win trading. You and I don’t decide what constitutes cheating in Destiny, Bungie does.

And this means that Bungie should cancel trials? Just take back the gear that wasn't earned and actually start policing the game. And trials is hard and super competitive when people are actually playing and not win trading.

Did I say there aren’t any cheats? Those numbers also prove that “trials is full of cheats” is a gross exaggeration. Bungie need to pull their finger out and fix this issue not just give up, like I said it’s the only PvP endgame and it’s loved by lots of players.

Yes it is a huge figure but it clearly shows trials isn’t “full” of cheats, it’s a third like you said. Look forget that, why do you want trials taken out and not fixed?
