so because its hard to enforce there hasnt been a single person in the 6 1/2 years of destiny that has been banned for a normal account recovery? and cant the game literally detect 3rd party software (cheats) and ban them? cant you quiet obviously tell somebody is cheating in a recovery when all the sudden the person starts matching nobody every game? its not enforced because its not against the rules. they enforce the no spoilers more than they do something that is according to you considered cheating

  • Just because they can be banned for it doesn’t mean it will. Bungie doesn’t have an obligation to ban someone for cheating. As for ghost lobbies, I have no idea why there isn’t something to detect if a team hasn’t went up against nobody for seven games in a row. It against the rules, they just don’t care to enforce it because they simply don’t want to. Also, I don’t consider recoveries cheating, but they are still a breach of the licensing agreement.

  • Your last statement is understandable as well. I don’t know why people revert to insults. I know people do so because of the anonymity of the internet, but I don’t understand the reasoning behind it.

  • if they are literally never going to enforce it even once im gonna take that as theres nothing wrong with it. they also do have an obligation to ban people for things against their rules as they are their rules and they are there to say "you will get banned if you do this". i got you confused with the other other dude for a second who is saying recoveries are cheating and then providing no proof but throwing insults to prove his point as well as accusing people of doing things he considers cheating without checking at all if its true (i dont like him)

  • Well it doesn’t say they have to ban you, just that they can. If Bungie every chooses to go after recovery services they will have legal grounds to do so. They are just covering their bases. I wouldn’t say there is anything inherently wrong with recoveries, I disagree with it, but recoveries aren’t the problem. I’m more concerned that people feel they need to use recoveries because they can’t reasonably do activities.

  • i dont see an issue with recoveries but i havent done them or bought them. i just see recoveries as a thing that dont really matter because if the person doing the recov was on their own account they would be doing the same thing if the were on another account. also i can do the activites but ive considered buying a recov sometimes just because i dont feel like doing it, for example trials. trials is in a dogshit state and i would honsetly rather not do it at all, which is why ive barely done it since the season it came back. also from what ive seen a lot of people who buy recovs can do the activities but share the same mindset of "its just not fun so i would rather someone else do it".

  • I wouldn’t say that someone doing recoveries would do so on their own account. If they are not going to get a benefit they aren’t going to play with or on someone’s account, unless they enjoy winning games against people worse than them that much for their ego and getting a bigger number but I understand the sentiment.

  • But if they weren’t being paid to play, they wouldn’t play as much.

  • Well, people need to blame something. Recoveries are an easy target. People have taken issue with recoveries existing rather than why they exist and have become so prevalent.

  • idk why people hate on recoveries more than cheaters, it blows my mind

  • I understand the argument but the line of thought stops when it’s convenient for the argument against recoveries. People don’t like them because if the actual account holder was playing, the result would most likely change. That alone makes sense but people don’t consider that the people paying for recoveries don’t play anyway.

  • And any change Bungie makes will be met with a multitude of complaints. SBMM, CBMM for the whole card, flawless players not being able to play those that haven’t gone flawless, or doing nothing. It’s a hard position when people object to every change Bungie does, whether it be good or bad
