Usually the next thing people ask, is why are we still on the forums? Because we love the game so much we can’t just walk away. Our hope is that one day things will be changed, even though we know it is an uphill battle. Also, as with any topic of debate, it is important to see all sides of an issue. We remain as the few to try and set the record straight, from our point of view. In the end, we all love destiny, that’s why we are here. We just have different ways and different aspects we love about it. Currently we aren’t seeing the parts we care about respected, but that doesn’t mean that others aren’t having a blast. Thanks for being civil and open minded friend. We are proof that the forums do not have to be “toxic.”

Well, i wont disagree with your point of loving the game, IF you stay on problems untill the time you left, since you dont have an argument of a issue of a game you dont play anymore. But yeah, its sad that this place is toxic. I think its how people are agressive towards opinions.

Honestly we need more debate on topics like Sunsetting. Without the debate, Bungie will never have access to the best feedback, which they need to make the best version of destiny possible. Opinions are good, so long as they aren’t used to demean or insult others. Part of what makes this place is toxic is a lack of argument in general. Someone will post “I don’t like Sunsetting, here’s why” and then the replies go as follows: “you suck” or “let it go” or “this is Bungie’s game.” Once in while someone will state why they believe Sunsetting is a good thing. Those posts help the debate the most. Point, counter point. Dismissing opinions is silly as it usually suggests that the opinion is close to “truth,” because it can’t be refuted. I hope destiny keeps getting better, I have ideas on how that is possible, but then again I don’t make video games for a living lol. So we go the forums and try to talk it out and hope Bungie takes note.

Dont get me wrong, a discussion about sunsetting can be good, but most of the time, the arguments are "i dont like it". Sure, the opinion is valid, but it doesnt bring nothing to a conversation. Like what the OP of the conversation we are having: "sunset my gear, sunset my bussiness" I might be wrong, but this sound like a "i dont like it" type of comment.

That’s just his stance. He explained why that was his stance a long time ago. Essentially, he felt that Sunsetting disrespected his time, money, and effort. And thus he has chosen NOT to put another dollar of his own money into destiny. It was valid and valuable feedback once. Now it’s a rallying cry for others that might feel the same. And it’s still valid now, as he is basically saying nothing has changed

Yeah, i didnt read that one. My bad lol. But idk dude, the conversation of sunsetting is just a bother at this point because (most of the time) leads nowhere, because both sides are stubborn enough to stay on their ground. So its the same points, over and over, to ears that dont listen. The way i see it at least. You can disagree, of course.

There is something to be said about entrenched points of view. But I would caution you about having a closed mind to any topic. My fear is that both sides have become numb to reality. One side thinks Sunsetting is ok or at least here to stay. The other side says it’s bad and wants it gone. My view is: even with Sunsetting, NOTHING has changed. There are just fewer weapons now. Less armor available for endgame activities, though obviously armor is more cosmetic. There are still metas. There is still power creep (new exotic sword). Some weapons are still better than others, which leads to similar if not the same load outs for everyone for everything. For me that’s the definition of stale. I was really hoping for a new weapon system similar to armor 2.0. Then I would have bought BL. But literally nothing has changed, and that’s what upsets me the most. And for the life of me I can’t figure out why other guardians aren’t upset about it? The game needs new life, not rehashed guns on an endless loop. That’s my own view on it. In my opinion Sunsetting has only made things worse in terms of diversity. It hasn’t led to a brighter future like some thought it would. I wish we had more change, like what they did with stasis. More control, more options, more tactics, more diversity. Feels like we are all cookie cutter cutouts lol
