What really gets me about the hate is blinds some people to the point where they just can’t accept any explanations other than Bungie’s incompetence. Yes, Bungie made some definite mistakes, but it’s when I see issues that occur a lot elsewhere and are definitely not unique to Bungie (or even just to game development) people still insist that Bungie should not have made that mistake. As if having a track record of mistakes makes one [i]less likely[/i] to get tripped up by something that catches many others out. The “shining examples” that get pointed out f how other companies do it may well be the exception, not the rule. I’ve seen behind the curtain in IT stuff too much not to see certain situations as “business as usual”. Not as desired, to be sure, but definitely as usual.
