The reason the backlash to D2's failure is so much worse than D1 is quite simple, and a lot of the fanboys who defend Bungie seem to miss this part:
No one is "hating" on Bungie for putting out a bad game that needs a year or two of work. People are hating because they did it AGAIN!
People were patient with D1 because of Bungie's reputation and because they saw slow and steady improvements. Then after over 3 years of continual development, evolving gameplay and constructive feedback, they messed it all up again and failed in new ways people hadn't even considered.
Bungie broke our trust, spent 3 years repairing it then shattered once more. Most people believe in second chances across all walks of life, but everyone has a limit.

People are completely justified being mad a bungie, anyone who thinks otherwise probably needs medical attention. With that being said, some of the hate is a little bit ridiculous. Again, the hate is justified however some are taking it a little bit too far.
-
1 Respuestai don't think anyone doesn't understand that...what people don't like about the hate is that people who do like the game are insulted by the haters, there is no real feedback only hateful messages, and the solutions proposed are regurgitated ideas from streamers that are for the most part terrible solutions

Totally agree I spent over 200 dollars in total on destiny for expansions because I truly believed in bungie and at the end it was a great game, albeit not a game worth 200 dollars. With destiny 2 people thought they would get an improvement from the full d1 experience and their imagination went wild. THIS would be the amazing MMO RPG FPS game shown in 2013. But it wasn’t. They gave us less than vanilla d1 and tried to get us to go through the whole dlc cycle again. Only this time people didn’t fall for it. And that’s why everyone’s gone

Hit the nail right on the head. And the thing is they were warned. It was a long, slow and clumsy dance we danced with D1 all the way up to Age of Triumph. Silence, half truths, "working as intended" when there were bugs throughout the game. The 0.04 buff to auto rifle damage. That one was hilarious. There were plenty of posts about exactly your point here, on Reddit, by prominent Twitch and YouTube Destiny players. If they repeated the mistakes they made in D2 they'd lose a lot of their most loyal players. Maybe it's a combination of problems. The engine is slow and difficult to work with. They may not be able to detect problems in a timely manner in order to fix it quickly because of it. Whatever went wrong with D2, we are on the same path only it seems even worse this time. I was about to go on a rant about the Eververse store. I ended up deleting it. Let's just say that players voiced their concerns about that too. They're doing it to us AGAIN. They were warned not to. Exactly what we said would happen is happening. Players who stuck it out in D1 are dropping out in D2. Maybe the game will be better and a lot more fun 2 years from now? If so, players might wait and purchase the game when it's a lot less expensive. Or not at all!

I agree with all of that. Bungie should try putting more time into making the game before releasing it. They could cancel the September release this year and reschedule for September next year, and I wouldn’t care. That would give them an extra year to develop the game and (hopefully) release a better game.

1 RespuestaD2 should have been a masterpiece. Bungie had all the past mistakes and successes to work from. For some unknown reason they discarded it all and put out a huge disappointment. I can only think that D2 is an experiment to see how the consumer reacts to how much, or little developers and publishers can get away with. So far, micro transactions have taken a huge hit. Content, or lack of content has shown how much more consumers expect now. Casual vs hardcore players has shown exactly what is expected - casuals play for a while then leave... Hardcore players are also leaving or have already left. It's a lesson in how to destroy your loyal fan base, make money from initial sales to casuals and how little content is required to cater to casual players.

8 RespuestasIt's obvious to tell who has been here since vanilla D1 and who hasn't. If you're frustrated with Bungie, you've been there since the beginning. If you're defending Bungie, you haven't.

Even Johnny Gat knew you couldn't stay neutral forever.

12 RespuestasThey spent three years mostly damaging D1. Stop the romanticism about the past.

1 RespuestaNo one hates on bungie bullshit. If a company puts out a inferior product then they should be held to account for it & if there is clear evidence that this company in question has ripped off the consumer then like anyone they should answer to law regardless of who they are. Destiny 2 is flawed on so many levels it’s not funny anymore & as a veteran player I’m totally disgusted with the actions of this company.

Editado por blade329: 4/11/2018 2:23:32 PMI loved them for Destiny 1. One of the greatest games I have ever played. I give them tons of props for that. When players invest a lot of time in a game, they expect it to progress in the next release. Instead, Bungie went backwards and gutted the game. So, players were ticked and felt let down. Only the fanboys have trouble grasping this concept.

The hate is towards HOW THE GAME WAS CHANGED TO SELL LOOT BOXES... Mods, disposable shaders & more ghosts, ships than anyone could ever want was for one purpose to create a LOOT POOL. I personally enjoyed the grind and idea of the original destiny. Yes rng was frustrating but rewarding when you finally received that desired loot. There is nothing rewarding in d2. Graphically d2 looks like destiny but that is all it is

2 RespuestasEditado por SuperStormDroid: 4/11/2018 4:49:54 AMBungie needs to delay DLC 2. If that is not possible, then they need to renegotiate the remainder of the 10 year contract with Activision.

This
bump
BS, you just want to watch it burn...

2 RespuestasThey should just drop the DLC and move forward onto something else. Quit wasting time on a failed project.
-
It's not that we hate it where all just very disappointed......

You all waited to long to complain or give D2 feedback. Instead of down voting me when I was giving feedback during the beta and in the weeks leading up to Destiny 2 (and in the first two weeks) you should have been leaving feedback.

I do not hate Bungie. I can, honestly, say I have lost a lot of respect for the company, but I do not hate them. Did they royaly -blam!- up with D2 and the way the issues are being handled? Oh....you bet your sweet -blam!-ing bippy they did. But....everyone, every company is bound too sooner or later. Will I be done with D2 if they can't turn it around come May? Yes. With Destiny. Not Bungie. Not entirely. D2 may go down in flames. D3 may not happen. I highly doubt Bungie will belly up though. And maybe....just maybe the next game they develop? Will be epic. Who can honestly say? Unless some one on these forums can see the future that would be no one BTW.

lol. Bungie did the exact thing they did last time and people are surprised? LOL!
AHAHAHA!
Yup, definitely a big part of it for me.
