I'm going to be cautiously optimistic about this thing. But I have reservations.
My main concern is that PvP-focused content creators are over represented, when compared to the actual player base. D2's design aligns with a lot of the feedback given by these people. Nerf this. Nerf that. Rein in the "shotgun apes". We want primary weapons to be more prevalent. That sort of thing. They got it all, streamed it a for few weeks, got bored and tossed it aside like spoiled children given too many toys. Such a crowd does not seem to understand the consequences of what they ask for any better than the typical kid on these forums (which some of them are: kids who don't know shit but think they do).
I hope that the feedback from the minority of PvE-focused content creators will be given a lot more consideration than that from the PvP-focused ones.
It is a good thing that Bungie is doing. The "we're listening" thing just ain't working. Deej and his minions have misused the word "conversation" so much I now reflexively roll my eyes every time anyone says it IRL. To me, that word now means "I talk, you don't say shit, you misinterpret everything I just said and go work on it". This summit should imply some honest back and forth, real conversations, and especially, frank discussions on the unavoidable consequences and compromises that any change will involve in the future.

What content do they create?
-
Is that a real question?
-
Very much so.
-
-
Uh ok. Thanks for the explanation.
-
They take the hard work of others, call it their own and then profit from it.
-
"We're listening" isn't working but they're willing to listen to streamers? That gives me absolutely 0 hope. The streamers that helped wreck the game are now being cast as our last hope... SMH.

"We're listening" does not imply talking back. It does not imply a real conversation (which is not a "Deej conversation"). What would have saved a ton of grief over D2 would have been some talk back from Bungie, like: "You say you want primary weapons to be more prevalent. Do you realize that this means we will have to put a damper on everything else? How about we give you 2 primary weapons and shove all special weapons in the same slot as heavy weapons?" Then we might have said "No, we mean stronger primary weapons, we don't want you to make everything else shit so they become the only viable option. Also, we don't want that for PvE." "We know you'd like strike specific rewards. Do you mean ghost shells?" Then we might have said "We certainly do not fvcking mean fvcking ghost shells. We were more thinking along the lines of Black-Spindle-level stuff." etc. The point is that Bungie has been horrible at interpreting all the conflicting feedback they get from all sources, not just this forum, and their solutions just plain suck. Since it's unreasonable to expect 8 million players to become united and coherent in their demands overnight, It falls to Bungie to do a better job to discern what the majority wants. This summit thing at least shows a desire (or desperation?) to try something different. I don't think this is all that will save D2, but it might do some good. Again, my only worry is that they are inviting some people who have, in the past, given some very shortsighted and damaging feedback and who have shown they don't give a single fvck about PvE. I want them to listen more to Datto and Goth, NOT to Triplewreck, DrLupo, TrueVanguard or Ms5000Watts.

You want them to listen to the King of Nerf Herders? SMH

Editado por SebastienC: 4/6/2018 6:06:40 PMWhich one of the 2 I named are you talking about? The 4 PvP streamers I mentioned all called for nerfs and whined for "more primaries battles", then they played the game for a couple of months and tossed it aside for something else. None have been known to say "Uh, on second thought, we were wrong about that."
-
I'm not name shaming and getting banned. Most that played D1 know who I'm talking about.
-
I'm not baiting you to name shame someone. We're just discussing other people's opinions. I think that's allowable, no?
-
This is Bungie.net - no we aren't allowed.

Editado por SebastienC: 4/6/2018 7:02:35 PMCalling either one of these two the king of nerf herders is hardly a bannable offense. They've been called worse. Especially Goth. But, moving on. I don't remember them calling for nerfs as continuously as the typical PvP precious. You are probably thinking of Vex Mythoclast and Gjallarhorn, which deserved some toning down. Meanwhile PvP streamers did it on everything daily. I've seen TV call for nerfs on Tlaloc, FFS, a gun that basicly becomes MIDA if you never use your super. You want to shake your head? Shake it at that.
-
No I'm thinking of firebolts... And it was one of the two.
-
Ok, that one too. Still, to me the real kings of nerfing are the PvP streamers.

Well Said!
