So we've all heard about the Summit. Is anyone actually buying into this BS?
Does anyone else feel insulted over it? The Community has given piles of Feedback, but the streamers (most of whom gave up in D2 months ago) opinions are worth listening to face to face? In the meantime, the Community's Feedback gets edited, moved and buried by Glorified Hall Monitors.
Let's be real. This Summit is about getting streamers to start streaming D2 again to hype the new DLC - it's not about fixing anything. It's about "how can we get more money out of these people while doing next to nothing to fix the mess we made".
They've had 7 months to make improvements... We get emblems and can walk faster... Oh joy!!!
There are several big titles releasing this Fall. Bungie's missteps since launch are going to bite them dead in the ass come Fall.
I'll be throwing my money at Red Dead Redemption 2.

25 Respuestasnot really buying into it either. How come none of the very best players got invited? Anyone from the tournament/sweats community: SirD, wallah, gabe, Warbulletproof, anbu, or luminosity? Not even triple, who lives in seattle and would cost $0 to book a flight & hotel??? These are the people who take the game the most seriously, played it the most, and understand the game the better than anyone else (at least the pvp side).

16 RespuestasEditado por JHarv: 4/6/2018 1:55:08 PMI'm not buying it, because I'm not an idiot. The feedback has been out there for years, in all kinds of depth. They've always known what the players want. All they're doing is pulling in influential redditors and twitch streamers to schmooze them into jumping back on the Destiny train. Get them talking and steaming Destiny again, regularly. In other words, to get them marketing the game again while they say "See, we're listening and making positive changes guys!" They know what they need to do to make this game good. You can't tell me only streamers can explain why RPG elements are good for longevity, or that having an economy and deep vendor or gear systems are beloved by gaming communities. You can't tell me that only streamers know the benefit to tuning a Sandbox more that twice per year. You can't tell me theyre so stupid that ghosts as nightfall rewards (which people yelled at them for in Year 2 of D1) are something they need streamers to tell them to avoid. You can't tell me that removing strike or crucible mode selection and talent build customization is something that only streamers can explain is bad. You can't tell me that copy pasting the D1 character creator to D2 while removing character voice and making a bland, generic 5 hour story campaign is a bad idea that only streamers can communicate to them. Let's be real here. They know what they need to do. They're just trying to rally the fanboys back up to sell more units. There was probably a board meeting with Activision where this was discussed as the best route to accomplish that. Wake the hell up. It took Bungie 4 years of preproduction to get nowhere and rush out a last minute mashed up project that Staten and Marty walked away from because it was never going to meet their expectations. That is still the case. It will never be good with the team of Devs and management we have working on it. Never.

9 RespuestasHere's what I expect from this summit. The streamers and youtubers will come back and do one of two things: 1) praise Bungie for their promises of making the game better or 2) report more of the same terrible decisions that have gotten us to this point I expect no transparency from Bungie. I don't expect them answer any hard questions, if they even allow any to be asked. I don't expect any apologies. I don't expect them to say "we were wrong on so many things: here's how we're trying to change and fix it." I expect that none of the feedback and commentary from the summit will have any effect on the fall expansion: it's too close to completion. At best, they'll try to implement some of it into D3, and maybe implement some suggested system changes after the fall expansion launches. This summit's a marketing stunt; nothing more. Bungie knows they're in bad shape with their community and are desperate to get people interested again. They know that no amount of their own marketing is going to help push the fall expansion: they need these streamers/youtubers telling their audiences that the game will be worth it again. They know that their TWABs are torn apart within minutes of being posted: they need streamers 'translating' the TWAB into something the community will accept. Basically, they understand that the community doesn't believe a word they say, so they need a trusted intermediary to placate the community. Streamers/YouTubers are that intermediary. Frankly, I don't expect it to work.

Bungie doesn't want to listen to us, if they did, we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place, this is a poor PR stunt on to make Bungie appear as if they are listening when and build up some hype for DLC 2 (which better be good after a 2 month delay) -
19 RespuestasEditado por TheShadow-cali: 4/6/2018 7:58:03 PMBungie has nothing to offer anymore. This next DCL will be thrown right back in their face, and the player base will continue plummeting. This isn't nowhere near what D1 was when it released that kept 3+ million around. The first 2 months this game lost 2+ million. I can only imagine how low the player base actually is now. Especially when I play D1 and all the towers are full majority of the time. D2? Huh! My son plays the game and the tower is always empty.

2 RespuestasThey NEED this next dlc to sell well. Many people already purchased it. Many people who didn't preorder regret CoO, and ave moved on. If sales for it are low, the prospect of a break even year for D2 DLC is not looking good. Maybe they have something great. Maybe its more recycled content, but maybe there are some twists. A new, full raid would be nice. still not getting me back. waiting on that 200 day inactive milestone. i think i get an emblem for that.

Agree! It is marketing and nothing else BTW: is there any list of the 42 that will go?

This isnt anything new. They did this pre launch with a number of streamers. I even remember Giggs doing some prelaunch interview saying how amazing the game was and how it was what people wanted etc... Totally ignoring he fact the game had holes in its content bigger than his fore head lol Even if everyone at the summit gives awesome feedback and Bungie take it all down and onboard and promise to implement it....do you think even your grandchildren's children will live to see the results? Since launch Bungie have fixed walking speed and made some emblems.... Any real feedback may save D3 if we are lucky imo, esp with the egos involved with the general lore and story/game direction, and even more unlikely noting their current business agreement with Activision. If they need to learn anything from D2 its that you have to have time to make something with quality, replayable content. Also, dont just ignore the improvements your fanbase helped you make in the previous iteration. Streamers are streamers, they want content and large audiences to increase exposure and revenue. Seems to me like a desperate attempt to tempt some back into the D2 fold, so tll be interesting to see what ones take a carrot and do a sudden U turn.

1 RespuestaBe real this is to sell the dlc. It's a month before dlc release so whatever feedback is given isn't going to matter so close to launch. Ass kissing campaign to get streamers to sell this shit to their followers.

4 RespuestasI 100% get what you're saying. But.... you're kind of a huge idiot if you thought the summit was going to be anything even remotely meaningful. Its Bungie dude, all they care about is hype. It doesn't matter if their game is pure dog shit, as long as they can convince people its not dog shit just long enough for them to buy it. Bungie is no longer a game company. They're that dude on Craigslist selling a fridge. The pictures look nice sure, but only after you pay for it do you realize its full of rotten meat and semen.

1 RespuestaEditado por SirHugzAlot: 4/7/2018 12:26:38 AMThe game is dead. Streamers realised this long ago and jumped ship as they cannot make any money from playing this. Feedback was provided; some was taken on board. Developers put together a 'roadmap' to get D2 back to D1 standard. Said roadmap will take way to long. Gamers like myself are done with the AAA gaming industry and their shady practices. Bungie, like EA can get stuffed. This is nothing more than an attention grab to try get some new people on board and the non-educated gamers back on their side.

76 RespuestasEditado por Raj Ahtenn: 4/7/2018 5:19:46 AMI agree with you... Disclosure: IN MY OWN OPINION EVERYONE who reads any Destiny forum topics will also know that the “BDF”, “Fan Boys”, “Bungie Staff Fluffers” and yes, the “Luke Smith Sympathizers” will completely forget EVERY single and purposely spoken outright LIE, every wrong, deceitful, foul, misleading, underhanded, greedy act that BungieVision has ever said, done, and REPEATEDLY pulled on the gaming public. These Ppl want so badly, and have such high hopes for Bungie/Destiny, that they ignore the “real” that is in front of them, and put all their efforts into the imaginary, the unseen, and the “yet-to-be-seen”. They are running solely on their blinded love for Destiny and all of its “endgame”. A Sad thing too is: There are so many ADULTS that are caught up in this “Hopeful Destiny Universe”, that they themselves are sending the WRONG messages to their own children, nieces, nephews and kids in general... Their position of “STOP COMPLAINING”, “Give it up and let it be”, and the biggest misleading message these ppl send by saying “IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT ANYMORE LEAVE AND MOVE ON”... (Criticism here)... Such good words and attitude for adults to teach and instill into kids AND the next generation of upcoming gamers.... “just walk away”.... “it’s ok for a company/business/people to screw you over”... “so if you don’t like it... just walk away”! Companies/Businesses, and yes, PEOPLE need to be held accountable.... ONE FINAL THOUGH..... Did the ENTIRE WORLD just “give it up”, “stop complaining”, “let it be”, or “leave and move on if they didn’t like it” in regards to what a certain entity group did during the historical timeline beginning on SEPTEMBER 1, 1939 until SEPTEMBER 2, 1945 ??? I think not... Lastly, To the Haters of my reply post and or Butthurt defenders of Bungie/Luke/Deej/Cozmo/Dmg.... Wake up, the 99.999% of the original 7-8 MILLION gamers that USED TO PLAY and stopped... they all can not be wrong. Try removing those rose tinted glasses that DMG04 personally mailed to you for being “GOOD DOGGIES”. EDIT: let the pacifistic bashing/hate posts start flying... ... ... nnnow ! EDIT II : to all of you whom are reading this and putting your own interpretations into my post comparison... it is not in comparison to death, mayhem, murder, ONLY OF WRONGFUL DOINGS (lies, deceit, underhanded scheming etc.) ...Wow so many of you ready to throw stones when you read things only in the way you want to interpret them...

The people who said d2 was great just before and after launch get the chairs. These are the people who influenced a lot of people to buy who might have waited to see. The people who were actually critical, who had real insight into this trash game, are not on the guest list. If you are a BDF sheep you will love this summit.

1 RespuestaEditado por Crunchy-Mooncake: 4/8/2018 6:46:34 PMThis was very much my immediate reaction to the announcement. On second thought, though, I trust that Goth, Lulu, Mtashed, and Datto (these are just the people I follow) will advocate for us. I think it will be extremely hard for Bungie to convince these folks to push the game if it doesn't meet their expectations. I've watched Goth alot in the last few years; I really doubt that he's for sale.

Editado por Dredd_fan: 4/8/2018 1:32:45 PMWell said. D2 is beyond redemption (pun intended). Bungie are now trying to copy the example of The Division. Hopefully turning the fortunes of D2 around. The challenge is how can you improve a AAA game that took just 16 months to develop? Bungie have been taking missteps since they started developing Destiny. They got away with it back in 2014. Because Destiny was different and the game did improve with each DLC. However Bungie can't pull the same stunt twice and think they can get away with it again!

3 RespuestasEditado por Helios 2117: 4/7/2018 5:21:38 PMI disagree to an extent - other major games of this type have had successful community summits. It's impossible to get in touch with the entire community, and I think Bungie is right to pull some of the notables from the community - including the streamers - who are in tune with major parts of the fanbase. I actually see this as a positive step. Sure it's going to have some value for marketing, but I'm not that cynical to believe that 'marketing' is the only goal for a studio who knows its key franchise is really struggling.

2 Respuestas
I'll be throwing my money at Red Dead Redemption 2.
This. Red Dead Redemption is my favorite game of all time. I just finished Far Cry 5 after 76 hours. Bungie needs to take notes on how to actually put a lot of content in a $60 game. Far Cry had tons of shit to do.

It was a good idea but I think that they might have chosen community members that are more forgiving of them than we are, peace guardians

I've been consuming my time with Skyforge, I know it probably isn't a game for everybody but I really really enjoy it. Lots of repetitive grinding but with all the different classes you acquire and many levels and bounties to complete it is really fun. Oh did I mention it was FREE :) Sadly though I honestly don't think they listen to the forums that much and focus on the feedback on Twitter and Streamers? Just my opinion anyways.

I don't actually have any useful to say. I don't even play the game any more. I'm just here to say something brash with poor context and make myself seem witty or edgy. Also, Bungo killed my cat. You may continue.
soopursekratsurkasm
