This is true. The reason I play it so much is simply the mechanics. This game has progressively regressed its weapons. The digression in combat effectiveness is the only thing that has “Become Legend”! Will get my $99 out of it then done, wipe, flush, wash hands, walk away, don’t look back again! One burned bridge too many...

 • Let's say I agree with you. Please, just humor that premise. When you leave the theater after seeing a movie for let's say $10 and 90 minutes of your life...what do you walk away with?

As to the movie, if I like it, I buy it on 4K UHD.m, if not, I forget I saw it before I get out of the seat...

 • But do you ever go to the movie studio's forum and demand the movie be changed more to your liking? Effectively, you allow it to just be entertainment and nothing more right? Why the difference with a videogame? Do you believe videogames are more than just art and entertainment?

 • A movie is a final product, with no interaction, no evolution. A video game is not a movie, and continually evolves. This one did not evolve, it digressed.

 • I have difficulty seeing it that way, as I am a firm believer in artistic expression and developer freedom. I tend to believe trying to appease communities or the playerbase effectively spells ruin for a vision. I've seen it happen to too many games, including Destiny 2. In fact, I think D2 is the way it is currently BECAUSE they listened to the community so much. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I think you for sharing your view of it without the normal vitriol and hatred often espoused on this board.

 • I am not in disagreement with you. I believe Bungie should create their own vision. But, that is exactly not what they have done. Instead, they built a product then altered it to appease. This is a big reason we are here today, having this discussion: they lost their way.

 • You speak the truth right here:
Instead, they built a product then altered it to appease. This is a big reason we are here today, having this discussion: they lost their way.
I still have fun, but too often I realize how many of the mechanics are directly tied to community feedback that stress "fairness" and "everyone gets a cookie" mentality. The game lost a lot of its soul imo.

 • Exactly and precisely on point! Hate to say it, but I have since 2015, one cannot please everyone. Make your game and players will complain. Appease, and you begin a deadly slide. This began and accelerated with the Sandbox tuning and complete removal of the meaning of End Game Rewards. I could make a list. But, I played about 4800 hours of Destiny, saw it all first hand. There is a saying, and a philosophy I follow in real life: above all else, be true to oneself. This game lost its way, it is no longer true to itself, it is entitlement in digital format.

 • Now I'm crying. That was great. Imo I think bungie wanted to follow their path but were held back by the "active forces of vision" and are contractually obligated to hold up a certain end of their deal. I sympathise with bungie as in my opinion they have to take it on the chin. I see the potential the game has based off of earlier products from bungie which is why I hop on from time to time and play with friends. I remember d1 and the journey it took in the end then we have d2 which is ornaments x11. Maybe due to relationships bungie can't save d2

To be clear, I’m not rich or wealthy money wise. I believe $$ is only a tool, not a Diety. I don’t worship it, I simply use it when necessary. I bought Destiny because of its vision: a war to save the universe from a Darkness. Now, it seems the war is to save Destiny2!
