Okay so I watched this video thinking I just wanted to see what sort of mug would buy silver. Basically wanted to laugh at them. By the end, I actually felt sorry for this guy, he genuinely looked sad and like he wanted to cry.
What sort of developers want their fanbase to feel like this after paying real money?

I almost cried, because I spent the very last of my money and didn't get what I wanted. However I stopped myself by thinking about how I won't be following Activision games anymore

BTW, did he say "chromatic ejacalite" at 2:00?

I'm surprised it isn't classified as gambling... It's no different to scratch cards. If I marketed a scratch card with potential wins on one side (traditional scratch card) but with a nice 3D lenticular image of a kitten on the back, then the punter has effectively purchased a guaranteed collectible item and the other potential rewards are just an added bonus, then perhaps it wouldn't be considered gambling? And if it attracts kids, well, so be it...
What sort of developers want their fanbase to feel like this after paying real money?
Greedy developers who don't care about their players. Next question?

The rng treasures were designed to keep the exclusives rare, so those who got it felt lucky, and had something to brag about... But... The flip side is the ones who go overboard, get to feel unlucky, and get to listen to the lucky ones brag... Only thing is both spent money, the latter usually more money, and they get nothing in return but dissapointment... It's a bad system, and needs to be improved, or removed...

For real, my thoughts exactly.
