* Display the patch notes while we're installing a patch so that you can read them while installing.
You can't access the app while downloading a patch so unfortunately this wouldn't work.
As far as being able to view news in the game after an update, it would be a nice feature, and is definitely an idea to consider for the future.
Right now the companion app and Bungie.net is your best source for news, patch notes, and upcoming maintenance alerts. If you do not have a computer or mobile device, you can use your consoles browser to access these articles. We have even recently obtained the ability to push out links to the Xbox Hub that will automatically open into your consoles browser, so look for those as well.
Thanks for the feedback.

Every other game I play gives a detailed history of the patch notes

Editado por RavenousLD3341: 10/24/2016 12:32:42 PMI work in IT, and here's the unfortunate fact. I've emailed stuff to people Had it pop up on their screens when they log in Posted marketing material for changes all over the enterprise had face to face meetings with department heads in some cases had to do 1 on 1 info-sessions Then i do my update 7000 people send me WTF emails. Will it work? nope. You can literally drive to their house and beat them to death with patch notes, and they still won't read the shit. I certainly would like it, but I already read it on the site, so the return on investment from users like me still be minimal. The people that already don't read it, will just skip it, and then complain when they weren't told. EDIT Down vote all you want, but I'll predict the future here. If you get patch notes on screen while playing the game, the "no one told me" posts will continue.

Thanks for posting - but more often I see better posts on Reddit than I do on the actual forums here at bungie. I fell into this trap on launch and wasted two vendor packages along with an exotic before realizing my mistake. When downloading the patch we could get a text page outlining changes - That would be amazing!
-
No it's not. Twitter or reddit is, and we have you the company to blame for this.
-
I always love how cozmo keeps replying to threads about tiny little things like this, but never replies to the many problems people want answers about...

Editado por Weesil xD: 10/21/2016 3:23:49 PMIt's definitely possible. You have art while we're downloading patches. Other games have this feature while the game updating. It's not impossible.
Think of it for D2.
Thanks for the reply! Are you sure that is correct? I'm pretty sure I've seen some concept art-ish sceneries from Destiny while installing certain patches (not all though, but at least a few). I think this may be if you try to launch the game before the whole installation is actually finished. Anyway, a way to see them in game after installation would be good enough. I know they're accessible through the webpage and phone, that's how i read them now. It would just be more convinient to access them from the game. (call me lazy if you want) ;)

Then why do we find out all critical information from Reddit instead of here ?Can you care to explain Cosmo ? Bungie staff interacts with us on Reddit twice more then their own community which is simply unacceptable.
-
Bungie staff interacts with us on Reddit twice more then their own community which is simply unacceptable.
I post on here far, far more than Reddit. Also, all of the news Reddit gets from us is pulled from Bungie.net so it is all posted here first.

Editado por The Vigilante: 10/24/2016 5:43:39 AMWhen the lead community manager of Destiny thinks that "Bungie Staff" means simply himself.
-
But mostly twitter is the first stop and usually the only stop for patch corrections.
-
Reddit is a bigger community that is far less toxic. Most of the focus of that sub is for information and enjoyment. Something Cozmo knows firsthand since he helped create the sub. The submitters over there are focused on giving other players information. As opposed to here, where there are more complaint, and demand posts. As the saying goes, you attract more bees with honey.
-
Still that is not an excuse , no player shall be forced to check Reddit or any other type of update to find details about the game. This is Bungie's responsibility to deliver news to its user base correctly. They have an official app - they have their own community - they have their own news channels etc.. These shall all be utilised before reddit.
-
Where do you think Reddit gets their information? They get it from here genius. They actually read it and comprehend it. As opposed to reading the title, and then making a shitpost.
-
Or not reading it at all, lol.

theres no official app for microsoft phones.

A sub 1% market share will do that. No sense spending resources on a nearly dead platform. https://www.cnet.com/news/windows-phone-market-share-falls-below-one-percent/

Editado por CryogenicEmbryo: 10/21/2016 7:13:54 AMLol ok coz then why when downloading the latest patch for warframe i can read the latest state of the game and the patch notes on a live feed in the top right hand corner? On the screen of my tv? And this is on a free to play game cozmo. Thats right every expansion is free. Yet they can program a game better than you guys who charge $30 for five missions.

sounds too true bruh

Editado por haphazardlynamed: 10/21/2016 2:45:39 AM"use your consoles browser to access" did you know? that the update that changed the website color scheme to black with white text, also inadvertently destroyed the page formatting when viewed in the PS4 browser? of course not, no one at Bungie gives a damn about people who don't own a Droid/Iphone

But yet bungo wasnt smart enough to think of this basic feature ahead of time, but now you want to forward this idea up to the devs!? Perhaps, its the devs that are a bunch of idiots that dont know how to implement basic features in a game!? I really feel sorry for you Cozmo...its because of the devs that you are now forwarding a crap ton of ideas up to them...ideas that they should have ALREADY thought about! WOW!

Editado por YourVillain: 10/21/2016 12:55:45 PMYou do realize these are the same guys that didn't organize the vault by weapon and armor type or hell, allow us to easily do it manually or thinks that putting the actual stats in numbers is too complex for our simple minds or thinks hiding stats like aim assist is better for the game so we don't get caught up on those pesky details... Yea those guys AND YOU'RE SURPRISED?!

For a console game? What other console games do live up-to-the-minute notifications/announcements/patch notes in-game? I'm curious.
