This map had many effective lanes to snipe at it and also had many good close quarters engagements. So why is 1000yds the most dominant of all snipers? Well first it's one 4 snipers of year 2 that can res snipe and second it's really easy to get a simple quest or spend 150 marks. Also shotgun and sniper percentages were almost equal.

    It still had many sniper lanes though and all the maps in this game are essentially close quarters, we had one open map for year 2 which was rusted lands for trials. Snipers in this game get use sniping in cqb range also Rez sniping is a huge factor which could really pad the meters.

  • They're fine as is maybe just increase weapon swap time so you can't get a body shot and easily switch to primary to clean up.

  • They definitely aren't fine overall, however everyone who understands how to balance, would acknowledge that. They exceed at ranges they aren't intended for, are currently the only viable secondary at a higher level of play, and especially with a TTK that doubled for meta primaries since TDB/HoW, this gets even more obvious.

  • The thing is snipers were never touched since release and the maps got smaller. Also the players that stayed and are still playing improve and got better at sniping. People make a deal out of it and it snowballs causing mindless following and asking for nerfs. Can other weapons be put to standards? well yeah...

    You just proved, why you don't understand how balancing works. Just because something didn't get buffed directly, doesn't mean that it isn't OP. I even gave you one of the most obvious reasons. Primary Time to kill. In TDB/HoW meta primaries killed in 0.3 (TLW), 0.4 (Lucky Hawk) and 0.5 (Thorn) sec. Now meta primaries need 0.8-1.2 seconds. This will automatically buff snipers, simply because a sniper now has time to easily place 3 shots, before his opponent is even theoretically able to kill him. Nerfing every tracking grenade, made corner/hallway camping with Snipers easier as well. Nerfing Fusion Rifles, means that snipers are also the best closer mid ranged special in the game. Nerfing shotguns means that camping with snipers is much harder to counter, as rushing them is now much harder than before. As I said, snipers don't need a direct buff, when every change that happened until now, benefits them more than any other weapon class. Heck, even the nerfed Rockets help them more than any other class. You also clearly didn't see the weapon usage stats since TTK and now this update. Snipers are at an all time high with sniper kill % being incredibly high as well. The whole weapon class needs a rebalance. And before you tell me to git gud, I'm a top 1% in terms of score per game average in Control. I'm already good.

  • First things first at least link your account. Don't even say a PSN/GT anyone can do that and claim it as their own. Prove me wrong on this one once you get the chance Snipers were always relevant in trials there's no denying it. Fusion rifles were barely used in HoW and shotguns again were tied with snipers they still are if you looked at the links. (Sniper is like what 2-3% higher?) Now special ammo is an issue it spawns frequently which leads to less primary play I'll give you that. Also primaries in this meta that do challenge add a good amount of flinch. The exotic handcannon meta you simply tried to out snipe them in two shots due to the absurd range and damage.

    Did you just seriously "give me a chance" to link my account? Don't get me wrong, but I don't really care if you believe my stats or not. My account is linked, but I use privacy settings, and I have no intentions of changing them. It doesn't matter if primaries let snipers flinch more or less than before (and it isn't generally true. If HCR aren't used, it's the same. And weapons who need more range/stability can't use them), when snipers gained twice the time to kill someone. It's also irrelevant if FR haven't been in a good spot since launch. With the Shotgun nerf, it just means that every distance outside of 5 in game meters is now sniper territory, as far as specials are concerned. It's not necessary to buff snipers directly when primary TTK doubled, shotguns are nearly worthless and FR just got another nerf, even though nobody used them to begin with. The weapon usage stat isn't just relevant for trials and I talked about them outside the context of trials, as I do not play the mode. I referred to the most popular game modes, and in those, snipers are starting to see an asinine amount of usage, while their counters got nerfed into oblivion. I went flawless once in HoW on my second or third try and never played Trials again. I purely talk about about a 6vs6 perspective.
