Latin clearly isn't the problem here. There's a bunch of dipshits in your school system that need a good flogging; maybe Wisconsin can loan you Scott Walker for a few weeks to get this sorted out properly?

They're making a permanent decision next school board meeting. Don't think he'd get here fast enough.
Also Have no idea who that is, sorry.
-
He's Wisconsin's governor; he's trying to fix the public school system, particularly in Milwaukee. It's been working more or less, though he's kinda ruthless about it. Anyway, I hope they do some good firing at this meeting. I've never seen the point of Latin, but I guess it's still used now and again. What's your take on all this?
-
I was reluctant on Latin, but the combination of seeing the influences of it today, along with the culture and history if the Romans and their impact changed my mind. I think its a big loss to the school to get rid of it, along with leaving Spainish as the only option. The school board has revealed itself incompetent at their job, and competent at not doing it. Are they in a bad situation? Yes, it sucks to have to make these cuts and be in the situation, but its not like it wasn't their choice to be elected. In all honesty, nothing will probably change-The board will stay the same, the new principle will be the scrapegoat, and students get screwed over in their education.
-
That's true; principals are always the first ones fired when the board fuсks up. Ironically, the students always come last in everyone's minds. Welp. Here's to hoping you graduate with some semblance of an education before the entire thing collapses in on itself.

Editado por TheMalevolence: 3/20/2015 10:06:31 PMOnly one more year after this;Hoping I can end with JROTC and Band as my electives, but if I fail Latin(Like I said, hard class;Georgia also sets failing at ten points higher than most places.) theyliterally might try and force me to take 2 course of Spainish,as Latin wouldn't be available to reattempt. Not that I plan on failing. Its so odd that such a unstable school in small north Georgia has also produced some really smart students- We've had one go to Harvard and one on the way to West Point next year.

Editado por Garzon: 3/20/2015 9:39:40 PMWell, Spanish is a Romantic language, so switching from Latin wouldn't be hard. It's probably an easier language overall, too. General Douglas MacArthur went to my sister's high school; a school which is reknowned as a pansexual drug pit for failures. Funny how things work out sometimes.
-
True, but its really annoying to lose 4 of your elective slots to languages, and especially half of yours senior year..I don't get to choose my other classes
-
Wow, you don't get to choose any other classes? Georgia sounds like a strange and terrifying place to go to school. But yeah, it sounds like you should stick with Latin, then.
-
Theres certain classes youre required to take-Its pretty much all of your Lit and Social Studies classes. I know for science physical science is required here, though I was on track to skip it at an old school. Math is freeform I think but they encourage you to stay on a path.
-
Do they have AP or IB at your school? We had IB, so class scheduling was a bit more varied.
-
Its AP and a bit of Dual Enrollment too. I personally feel bad for those that dedicate their high school life to such classes, some of those teachers and their classes are crazy.
-
Well, it's a challenge, but it's worth it. It's not so much the material you learn, but the habits you develop that helps you in college. Though you did mention JROTC earlier, so is college not your plan...?
-
It's more of a
HOLY SHIZ THERES SO MANY PATHS BUT THEY ALL HAVE DOWNSIDES
Kinda outlook right now. I definitely have an interest in the military, but by taking JROTC no means Im not looking at college. In fact they encourage collegem
-
Yeah, I've been there (still am, really). I hear that you should do what interests you, but there's not much money to be made doing anything fun. Then again, everything else takes time, dedication and money, none of which I have. You'll have to excuse me, I know next to nothing about the military.
-
Military has many monies. Sci-Fi tech requires lots of monies. See the correlation?
I WILL INVENT HALO.
-
And if that doesn't pan out, you can always get a job at McDonald's.
-
Long as they're loving it.
And I make enough to play my games.
-
Priorities; you have them straight.
-
I AM BUT A SIMPLE MAN I REQUIRE ONLY 2...er...3 THINGS!
GAMES

SCIENCE FICTION

AND PIZZA.
-
What you should really be trying to invent is a way to combine all three of those things into one superthing.
-
Simple:
Imagine a Spartan inspired suit that also can function and play like, say, an occulus rift, AND can transform ambient matter into hot slices of Domino's pizza.

We're still working on the Lava cake and Cinna Stix synthesizer, sorry
Do they come in pink?
