In one corner, we have the spartan II. Trained in top secret elite operation technique, both mind and muscle, and augmented with modifications making them capable of the strength of ten men.
Wears enhanced power armor that not only augments strength further, but carries a deflector shield.
In another corner we have a guardian. Raised from the dead with powers that to the modern human eye can only be described as magic. Able to skirt the line between life and death in a blossom of solar light or energize their body and blades with pure electrical energies, they are an offensive legion.
With their ghost, they have the gift of resurrection. You can kill a guardian and theyll get back up again.
In a one on one, a spartan would out-think, out-muscle, and out combat the guardian. When the guardian rezes, the cycle will happen again.
In a numbers game, the millions of guardians would outnumber the 100 or so Spartan IIs.

It didn't stop them with even higher numbers from the covenant.
-
Or they'd just destroy the ghost.
-
Someone kind of has to be there to Rez bro. Lol And you don't need to revive...if you don't go down.
Spartans for life
-
Accually Spartans never die...
they go missing in action
-
I love your reference to the game and salute you on it
-
Actually 12 or so. Ask the millions of covenant how they faired against 30. Hmm.... Millions of covenant lost vs a dozen Spartans. Guardians vs darkness. Thousands lost. Didn't make a dent in enemy forces.
-
"Killed by the guardians"
-
Damn map boundaries... Kill ball... Nightmares in forge...
-
I.... Goddammit technicalities...
-
Spartans II's are used to being outnumbered, numbers don't mean a thing to them.
-
-
Sir we're surrounded Good, now we can attack in any direction!

Spartans are good, Damn good. but guardians have almost every advantage, even in a one-on-one fight. I mean think about it, Titans have higher-tech versions of almost everything that makes Spartans different from ordinary soldiers, and they have supers to fall back on (fist of panic anyone?) Even hunters and warlocks have equivalent or better shields, all Gaurdians have access to better weapons and can space magic some grenades on demand. And then there's that whole resurrection thing, so that no matter how any times the Spartan gets lucky, the Gaurdian will still win in the end. Unless the Spartan in question is John117,then the Gaurdian will rage quit, eventually.

The Demon!

Must I say if, you've gone full retard. Not only are Spartans better trained(guardians aren't even trained), their bodies were subjected to augmentation to make them physically and mentally unmatched to anyone. Then there's their armor. I could write a few paragraphs on why this is better than Titan armor, but since your ignorant, and wouldn't believe me, I leave that to the halo wiki.
shields

better weapons

armor lock

any shots from small arms fire or rifle fire--sniper fire too, can barley make a dent in their armor

their armor can resist directed energy weapons. I.e. Fusion rifles
Must I go on?

There's no need to be rude, we're debating fiction here, not anything important. That being said, I'm very familiar with halo`s lore, and most of the hard statistics that have popped up over the years, unfortunately destiny grimore doesn't give hard numbers, so we assumptions have to be made about Gaurdian capabilities no matter which side of the debate you take. I assume, because the gameplay is nearly identical, that Spartans are not in fact fundamentally superior, because the alternative leads to a very borning conversation. Also space magic.
-
Space magic? Armor lock :P
-
Maneuver while the Spartan is immobilized and strike harder once the lock wears off, there's no one tool that will guarantee victory against a gaurdian especially since no one death actually matters to the blessed undead of the tower.

Editado por AscendantWyvern: 1/27/2015 12:49:50 PMI think it's all about how you measure their training, which, if the opening cutscene of Destiny says anything, varies depending on who they where before being raised. On top of that, our character's knowledge of history (I could tell you....) seems to fall a bit flat. I still give the tactics knowledge and training point to the spartan. Another thing to note is the augmentations each have. The spartan and mjolnir armor weighs in at half a ton, and is known to lift tanks with it. Unfortunately we cannot rate the strength of titan armor, but i can assume they are lighter in order to prevent the spine snappage that required the spartan program in the first place.
-
If it was a freshly revived Gaurdian vs a fresh out of training Spartan, I'd agree with you, but some Gaurdians are centuries old, with thousands of deaths worth of combat experience under their belts, I'd say that's enough real world experience to offset the Spartans superior training.
-
But a spartan is much larger, faster and tougher. For example, in halo lore there are accounts of john and another spartan running in about 60 mph (100km/h). Also, a spartan named Linda died a couple of times. Guess she's a sunsinger
-
Editado por Faith1essZealot: 1/27/2015 1:05:33 PMOnly Kelley was that fast, most peak at 40 kilometers per hour, and I never felt that fast in the halo games, and since all we have to compare a mountain of halo lore to is the grimore and gamplay I think it's safe to say that Gaurdians are roughly equivalent to Spartans, but with space magic. As for Linda we all know that Spartans never die.
-
Spartans get nerfed so hard for gameplay purposes. If we got to play as the characters from the books the game would be too easy.
-
You could say the same thing about most of the named characters in the grimore.
-
Just missing in action. Master Chief for the win.
