Everytime I need to upgrade a piece of armour I'm always lacking these materials to do so. The grind for them is too real
Relevant Side note: why does dismantling a legendary only give 2-3 plating/wire/essence? At this rate you'd need to dismantle 12 legendaries to upgrade your current legendary one defense upgrade. Where is the logic in that?
I feel a legendary tier gear should give you more resources than a rare one.
I'm constantly having to grind ROC strikes just to upgrade a single piece of gear.
Another side note: to everything reading this going "I've got like 600 of those I don't see your problem blah blah blah". Yes, well sorry we didn't all sit around shooting a cave getting hundreds of armour pieces to dismantle in our spare time.
Edit: everyone saying "gtind roc strikes". Are you even reading
thr entire post?

I got hundreds my self not hard to come by at all

Editado por Silvurphlame: 1/27/2015 11:24:18 PMYeah, I kinda got about 1200 of my 1400 units of Plasteel Plating from the Hive of the Holy Treasure Cave, lol. Now I'm always short on Hadronic Essence for my Warlock. :/ You may know all this, but you gotta do a lot more than strikes. Keep buying legendary armor when you have all the weapons you need. Try to transfer all blue armor engrams to the toon that needs materials the most at the moment. They'll decode to the class that turns them in (unless they go random class legendary). Farm glimmer and buy the hell out of cheap green armor from the Vanguard and then shard it.

I have 1900 hadronic essence on my warlock... do some strikes, its not hard to come by there
-
Glimmer farm exclusion zone for 30-40 minutes (or longer)... Then go to the vanguard vendor and buy the cheapest green armor, dismantle for 1-2 plasteelplating...easiest way I've found to "farm" this type of material
-
1 RespuestaJust buy greens from the cryptarch and dismantle them, gets you cryptology rank along with materials!
-
Just keep on picking up every engram that drops and scrap redundant armour, don't hoard it.

Been there so I know your pain. Unfortunately, strike playlist is the best way. Here is a tip though since you are running multiple classes. Lets say you are running strike list with your main but your alt needs materials. Stock extra armor based engrams in the vault and pick them on your alt later to dismantle.
-
You're not levelling your trash before you scrap it, are you? One bounty will double the materials a green helmet, gloves or chest drops.

1 RespuestaI have tons of hadronic essence, 1347 to be exact

12 RespuestasThis game is all about the grind, don't know if anyone's told you that before! And yeah I'm one of those guys that actually has like 1200 of each and I didn't get it by sitting around shooting in a cave! I got it by getting off my ass and grinding instead of wasting my time bitching about it on a forum! Your the type of player that just wants everything handed to you and doesn't want to have to work for it! Hate ppl like you, -blam!-ing lazy ass noob

1 RespuestaRun the chest run on the moon and kill everything as you go. Or sit down and do strikes for a while. Either way gets some major essence.
-
1 RespuestaBuy uncommon helmets from the vanguard armorer in the "dock" area...only 250 glimmer and 1 - 2 materials each not maybe the most efficient but easy in a pinch if you are short some.

2 RespuestasMy alts had the same problem Solution: whenever you get a blue engram save it in the vault and decrypt it later on the character you have that needs the material For example I have 1000 had tonic essence and 200ish sapphire wire. So basically I save all blue's for my Titan who has currently 26 plasteel Hope this helps

6 RespuestasWhen did you start playing destiny?

1 RespuestaBuy from vanguard quartermaster? That's what I usually do when I don't have enough.
-
3 RespuestasJust pick up every engram you see. And yes grinding roc strikes is the easiest way
-
1 RespuestaThis stuff needs to just be removed from the game. It's useless on your main character cause you will always have tons of it making it worthless. On a secondary character that isn't the Same class all it does is add another painful layer of grinding when you run out of the armor upgrade material. At the very least they should introduce a way to buy this stuff from a vendor.

3 RespuestasIf you don't have enough upgrade materials, it's because you are skipping most of the minions to rush to the boss fight or you just aren't bothering to pick up the engram drops. Either way you need to change what you are doing to fix the problem. On the plus side, if you do change your ways you'll every once in awhile get surprised by a lucky purple engram drop (often from a low level minion). I average a good 5 engrams per mission. That may not sound like much but it does plenty to keep me flush in upgrade parts.

1 RespuestaI have hundreds of wire mar for my hunter, so what i do is fill up my vault with legendary armor engrams. Any time I'm short on mat for my lock or Titan I clear out the vault decrypt and dismantle. This may help you if you have one character that has more than enough mat but your other characters are constantly lacking.
-
2 RespuestasYour first character created gets a higher draw for materials your second two are significantly lower. Best reasoning I have heard for it considering my hunter has over 1000 sapphire wire but it takes me an hour to farm enough hadronic essence for one upgrade.

4 RespuestasHaving a lot of your class material doesn't require shooting a lot cave or dismantling legendarys. It only requires you to do patrols, and that doesn't require you to have a patrol bounty. Yeah I have three of the same class, look at the hours, I played one guy until I had enough to outfit three. So you can't say anything about having three of the same, I had to do something with all that gear. Patrols can be repetitive and boring, when played by yourself, that is why the game is aimed at groups. Finding friends and completing objectives while 'hanging out' is kind of the point. So find friends, have fun, explore, before you know it you will have your materials. If you find this boring, you need more lively friends.

18 Respuestassitting on 1500 hadronic essence.. i'm sorry, but you'll get no sympathy from me. grind roc strikes.. do patrols.. hell.. run public events.. it's not that hard to stack up green and blues then dismantle them. hell.. try going through a strike.. and actually killing everything instead of rushing to the damn end boss. you'll be surprised the drops you get.
-
1 RespuestaI agree, man. You need to pick up and dismantle like 50 engrams (assuming at least half are weapons) to get enough for a single armor upgrade. I don't know about anyone else but I only see about 10 engrams drop during a long day of playing.

6 RespuestasLol that's literally the only thing standing in my way from hitting 31 on all my guardians... Ironic and sad really

I support the loot cave burn in your post.
