How can the big bang be 13.8 billions years old if the earth is only 2015 years old?

Edit: Alright someone actually said that for some religions the earth is 5000 or even 7000 years old.. Please dont say stupid things like that, 5000 years is just too much for every planet-star out there.. I dont even think the Sun is that old.. Stop with these stupid answers..

Facepalm* So. The calender we use goes from our current year as we move forward back to 0 around the time of jesus. Before that we had the B.C. years at which point when you go back in time the number for the year represemted rises. Soooo, according to carbon dating and bunch of other science that you cam go google the earth is around 4 billion years old. (Thats from the time it formed from space rocks to now). Even before the earth was formed the universe was expanding and doing its thing. Scientists use the rate of observable expansion and some fancy math formulas to get an idea for about when the big bamg happened. Thats how. Google it.
