A large majority can't beat Crota hard because Bungie used artificial difficulty in the hard mode. Vault of glass hard wasn't much harder than normal, but Bungie used some mechanical gameplay changes to increase its difficulty. Crota hard just bumps every enemy one level above us and adds more bullet sponge enemies and removes the chalice, which in the case of the chalice is the entire mechanic behind the Crota fight. Removing it is lazy design. The design choices for Crota hard are just plain lazy difficulty designs. Anyone can do that.

I disagree 100%. I have a blast on hard mode. Bungie created the perfect difficultly with this raid. Very beatable with a solid strategy and team, yet difficult enough that mistakes can be devastating forcing a wipe. I think it's great, and I'm willing to bet there are quite a few people who agree with me.

I think the hard mode of Crota is fantastic! It really gets your heart pumping when you've got a small chunk of health left to chop away on Crota and it all boils down to some perfect execution.

I agree with you 100%. I hate all these people whining about how hard it is. It's hard mode on the new raid! It's supposed to be the hardest content in the game! It requires immaculate teamwork, weapon/armor selection, communication, and timing, but is very doable.

I agree completely. I think the raid is about perfect. Finding a team that can handle it is much harder than the raid itself. When you do get teamed up with a good team you know it almost instantly though.

Yeah, if you can get a group of guys to raid together weekly even these hard raids become very easy. It's lfg that dictates whether you complete it or not. Lfg and synthesis lol.

Lfg is fantastic. It's also horrible. People see gjalarhorn in my post and everyone wants to invite me. They don't bother to read the part where I say "looking for a capable team".

I'm not saying its not a challenge, but the way they upped the difficulty for the hard mode is just plain lazy.

The removal of the chalice just made you have to be more specific with your gear selection and /spec decisions.

I don't see how all of these people are complaining, yet they spend hours and hours playing the game... Doesn't make much sense does it?

It's lazy design, plain and simple. Lazy, uninspired, artificial difficulty increase. Crota as a whole is fun, though not as fun and not as well designed as the VoG. Doesn't mean it's perfect though.

The vex are cold and calculating and the hive are brute force. This is reflected in their raids.
