Why all the HATE for Cheesers?

Why do you care how other people got their gear? What does it do to you and your character progression? There isn't a finite pool of loot drops. Bungie will keep giving out loot. (RNG aside) So what if people find ways to make things easier for themselves, or quicker? If you want to do the raids without cheese, congrats! Have at it. I won't stop you. Each player should be able to decide how they want to approach any encounter. That is their right by purchase of console and game. I have beat VoG and CE with and without CHEESE. I don't have a preference, I can complete it either way. I just don't understand why people hate people who CHEESE. It is a video game

Why do I despise people who cheese? Because it affects me when you join my party to raid and don't know how to do jack shit because you skirted by thinking you were a badass. All these cheesing kids are so naive and ignorant. "It doesn't affect you at all." Are you -blam!-ing stupid or can you not see how cheesing has ruined the raid, the forums, Hard Mode etc. When's my Hard Mode supposed to come out? Who knows? Because bad kids like you think you're just so awesome, when in reality, you ruin the experience for others who want to enjoy the raid. Get outta here, sub-par. If you can't see how you're negativity is impacting the game, there's no point in arguing. Don't bother replying either, it'll just be more justification and rationalization from the uninformed. Have a good one, scrub.

    • I just don't like that hard mode is delayed because people go out of their way just to try and exploit the game.

    • Because it dilutes the talent pool once all the cheeses are fixed(i.e the templar), luckily I found a group who does it legit and is almost always on when I am. Also because it's no fun with cheese, it's already easy enough to the point the other day I was trying to 4 man the whole raid, and I had something to tend to in real life, when I got back I was dead at the bridge encounter and my loot came up. I got 2 loot drops without moving an analog stick Not to mention it takes longer to cheese the encounters in some instances. It's just bad for the game.

    • If every time I do the raid, the team I'm with gives up on the legit approach and resorts to cheesing, then it ticks me off. I have yet to do the Crota raid legitimately because this happens EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's usually just one person suggesting it that poisons the team, which leaves just me against the notion. Sure, what other people do doesn't effect me. That's not the case with a community game. "It's faster and easier" I want the challenge! I want enjoy my content, but this community seems to be turning sour. At this rate, I may stop playing just due to a lack of interest in these "exploitative strategies". I'm sick of people thinking that it's alright to cheat and it's not just effecting those who want to do it.

Here's why. Cheesing affects the entire community by influencing new raid players in a bad way. They do not get to experience these raids as intended because every LFG group they get into wants to cheese. This leads to inexperience and ultimately rejection on the Hard Mode LFGs. In other words: > New player goes to LFG forum/site > New player resorts to a group that only wants to cheese because that is all he can find > New player cheeses entire raid and doesn't get to learn the mechanics > New player doesn't know how to raid > New player is rejected from nearly every Hard Mode group Vicious Cycles 101. The overwhelming majority of the Destiny community simply doesn't know how to do the raid legit. It's sad really and these players are missing out on the best Destiny has to offer. So, to those who say it doesn't affect me, you may be right. But you are robbing an overwhelming number of players of a great experience, which leads them to rejection in the long run. This is unacceptable.
It's not about being a better player or anything like that. It's about crippling new raid players.
Anyway idk if your new in the forums or not but this community is very hostile, they seek out anything they can complain about and try to bring it down with rude and arrogent comments. Im not saying cheesing is good. Im not saying its bad. But you cant do anything around here without someone hateing you for it

        • I was a cheeser myself but now I'm saying F U C K cheesers!! I never had a doubt I'd be able to do it after patch, my only fear was getting a decent team to do it with. Tonight my fears came true. Like I thought, it's not really hard at all. Any of the roles. Out of 10+ trys and over an hour playing crota, my teammates just could not keep it together. I died ONE single time compared to the many deaths each of my teammates accumulated. We managed to get him to half health at one point but of course somebody has to die and hardly anybody shooots the oversoul. Timing and skill are key to this fight!! And most simply do not posses both. Sorry y'all just felt like ranting lol

          • I think your message is good and selfless, but it comes down to most players in the Destiny community who: 1. Want to be the best in terms of ability (as shown by an even playing field) and loot (other players can't have a faster opportunity). 2. Want everyone to suffer as they have.

          • If you can do VOG gorgon maze with a level 29 who has the Crotas end raid helm and still has blue armor pieces and can't even make it through the maze then come here and tell me cheesing doesn't bother you in the slightest then you're a better man then me. Especially since I've beat the raid countless times legit on three different classes and I've yet to get a helm

          • So, what if everyone cheesed and just kept it quiet? How would it affect your " game" then? You all act like a bunch of whiny kids worried about whether someone "cheesed" a raid. It is very obvious that you are just "acting your age".GROW UP! It is just a game, a game that will become history to you as time passes. The game was NOT meant for you to live your life around. Just have fun! This is what the game was meant for. A year from now, you will not look back and think about how your life is different because someone cheesed the game. Play as you like and let everyone else have that same opportunity. After all, life goes on after Destiny.......If this bothers you, GOOD LUCK in the real world because you are going to be very disappointed- said the 40 year old Gamer...

          • If you don't like cheesing then it's fine, don't cheese But if you're trying to force people not to cheese because they suck or because they will burn in hell or whatever reason you can think of, then you're being dumb A few days ago, some dudes suddenly broken into a building and killed people who didn't agree with their beliefs... You think it's an exaggeration? Think again... Same here with cheesers, being an ignorant fanatic over a video game I cheese and sometimes don't cheese, if you don't like it, I'm truly sorry, idgaf, there's nothing you can do about it :)

          • I feel like everyone should at least know the raid legit before they cheese if they do. I hate being on a team with people who have never done it legit. But some people only play with randoms cause they don't have a consistent team and get paired with people who only wanna cheese so I understand that.

          • Because some of these nerds have a strong moral compass. It's their right to tell others how to play video games correctly and they exercise that right extensively. They know that cheese doesn't look good anywhere on, or around their cosplay costumes, and that no internet girlfriend would ever have an internet relationship with a fake 32 Hunter. It's because behind their computer, they can safely try to intimidate and make exploiters and trolls look uneducated and incorrect in their attempt to get a few laughs, because in real life, a pocket protector and big words won't prevent an ass whooping. Lastly, they believe that there is an extreme injustice being done to the computer based PvE minions, and any armour or weapon not earned is an unfair advantage and hurting their feelings....I'm proud someone is fighting for Fallen, Vex, Cabal, and Hive enemies everywhere. Nerd Power!

Firstly, I would like to correct one of your statements about buying the game. It seems that you are implying that you literally purchased the actual game. That is false. What you have done is purchased a LISCENSE to use the game the way the developers envisioned it. Cheesing, IMO, is not a wrong way to play, but it is not the way the devs WANTED the raid to be played therefore technically making it the wrong way to play. Raids are and should be some of the hardest content in the game, requiring a fireteam to not only have communication as a whole, but individual skill as well. In my opinion, this allows seasoned guardians who have poured tremendous amounts of time to feel rewarded for their dedication to improving themselves on Destiny. By cheesing, you are in turn, closing the skill gap (which is absolutely necessary IMO) and making said guardians' feats surmount to worthless, wasted time. Now you may argue, "This is just a game. Who gives a darn?!" And to you, good sir, I give you the middle sausage of rage. Video games have enourmous benefits, culturally, economically, socially, etc. The list goes on and on. Just look at these forums. *Insert grandpa voice* Back in the day, strangers wouldn't band together like this on a daily basis.

why all the hate? because normal people hate no-talent hacks, who hafta resort to outright cheating, to accomplish a goal in a game.... granted, these are things that should have been found and fixed before release, but the fact that they exist, and people keep exploiting them, means that bungie will keep spending time fixing THESE things, instead of tackling other things we keep bugging them about. cheaters are scumbags, plain and simple..

Preach , I feel the same way. With the amount of people playing its not hard to find people that know what there doing . I've cheesed with some very good players , some people are smart and like to get things done quicker . Why spend an hour when you can do it in 20 mins . Work smarter not harder

                    • Bungie will not openly state this but they encourage people to find new exploits. We are their testers. Its their fault for putting out half-assed material that has not been fully tested. Its their fault for not fixing these exploits in a timely manner. Stop blaming the cheesers. If they wanted to stop cheesers then they would have banned them a long time ago.

                    • It could be argued that someone who didn't earn the gear legitimately would not be as skilled. And then putting themselves out as level 32 players to invite to your team would be false advertising.
