This is probably being posted on multiple topics to ensure it gets the right one. Recently I got the exotic weapon bounty for Thorn. Seeing that I am once again forced into a gameplay I do not enjoy nor am all that good at, I do it for sake of getting a good gun for my characters to use. Though I find that the crucible part of this bounty is broken. The fact that death in crucible removes 2 points and kills with ONLY void damage earns 5 points and it takes 500 points to finish it. This is broken on so many levels it makes me wonder if Bungie has lost its ability to know how to design and program games.
First of all I'm forced to play a gameplay I do not like nor am all that good at. Bungie has always shown an inability to understand its players since Halo 3. Not everyone likes CoD crappy style of multiplayer. Some do, they enjoy it so much they remain unemployed to play it 24/7. But many do not enjoy it and many of them are really not all that good at it. Thus they have KDRs below 1.0 and for every kill is least 3 deaths. Meaning they never gain any points towards finishing that part of the bounty.
Secondly the fact that even after finally earning points in one match, the next one can go really bad and they can, and very well will, lose ALL progress made. The fact it doesn't set in stone progress made between matches allowing progress to stick makes it so that it becomes impossible for many to finish it. Leaving them to have no choice but to abandon and never attempt the bounty again.
Thirdly it is stated that is must be done via void damage only. The hunters have no void damage ability and titans only have void damage grenades and therefor it's made so only Warlocks have best chance at getting this. Otherwise a player must track down void damage weapons which are primarily special and heavy weapons and not always can get the ammo or a decent weapon to use in the first place. I so far know of just one primary weapon that does void damage and that has to be a random drop from the Vault of Glass. There may be more out there but very difficult to get.
So even just void damage kills let alone 500 points worth with only 5 points per kill is already making this a challenge, but breaking it and making it unable to be completed by allowing deaths to essentially reset any and all progress made is just plainly dumb. More than half of the player base left in Destiny will be unable to obtain this weapon. Even those who are decent at the crucible can lose all progress from a string of bad luck matches. This bounty needs to have at least two things done to fix it, the first being the biggest point of all, removing the points lost due to deaths, and the second being to remove the void damage only. I would suggest that instead of void damage, say it must be done via hand cannons instead or something along those lines. Allow EVERY player to be able to complete this bounty, otherwise why have it or the weapon Thorn in the game in the first place?
And to those who will tell me stop being a baby and play crucible, I do. Despite my dislike and avoidance of it, I will put up with playing it inorder to get the weapon and complete the bounty, but this one is quite impossible to finish for many in its current setup.

I think all exotic bounties should be like thorn. Its an actual challenge to get it unlike literally every other exotic (excluding Fate Of All Fools)
-
2 RespuestasDid it in 6 control matches
-
As far as of right now, there is only one void primary.
-
It's not broken it's easy just work for it
-
I did it on the hunter, stop whining
-
Finished in about 10 matches. Thank lord Jesus for Corrective measure. I melted kids in crucible and I managed to finish much fast than I expected.

Any exotic bounty with a PvP part, is the best excuse to use your shotguns and fusion rifles as often as possible. I don't really see the issue of running out of ammo though as I don't seem to in crucible. Just got the bounty today and am harvesting hive, nonetheless I wish you all the luck in the world to complete this dreadful bounty.
-
Its well worth the challenge.
-
It's not hard, if you are a warlock with void slightly maxed.
-
took me 7 games. tbh i'm glad another noob doesn't get the thorn. They need more skill based bounties

[/quote] 99% of the players that play destiny can complete the thorn bounty with some patience and some practice. It's meant to be kind of hard I've done it twice on hunter with no epilogue, and I suck at PvP.

You musnt be good in pvp
-
I did this with my hunter and trust me I was able to crank out 15-20 kills per game just by using a void fusion (I'm so sorry everyone please forgive me!) and a void machine gun TLW also helped out a little
-
So many QQs on thorn bounty. Its not that hard, but I guess if you bitch enough they'll change it.
-
Tl; dr. This isn't a hard bounty at all I and many others did it start to finish in less than 3 hours
-
I am awful at pvp. I sat at this part for a month before sucking it up. Played crucible for about an hour this afternoon and got 156 points. I'll be there before too long. It's not too bad. Get a fusion rifle and blast away.
-
It wouldn't be so hard if i wasn't killed by a fusion rifle every 2 seconds...
-
Run. A lot. Max agility from your class. Don't bother with invis. I did this as a hunter with a void sniper and rocket launcher. I only played control. I went 1 game with 0 kills and 0 deaths. It sucks but eventually I learned to just run away if I'm in trouble and save a negative death. Took me about 3 hours of crucible after I decided on a game plan. Good luck.
-
Easy just join optic and go 100-0 done
-
It rips face in the crucible, but you gotta earn the right to use it! Pick a weapon with void and take your time. You will get it eventually.
-
If you got it on a titan or warlock it should be fairly easy tho
-
Destiny multiplayer is a lot easier than other multiplayers. Not dissing but it seems to be true for a lot of ppl and if you have Athens epilogue it should be quite a breeze the hardest thing is killing the wizard but keep going for that bounty thorn is amazing in pve and pvp
-
You expect to get a good done doing easy PvE stuff? No, the crucible is no place for mercy.
-
You're not forced into any gamely you don't enjoy. That's like saying I want all the raid gear but o hate raiding, why is bungie forcing me to raid to get raid gear. It's nonsensical. Fusion rifles and rumble are your friend. You just have to play like a jerk for a few hours (sorry everyone I camp killed doing this bounty). The gun is sweet, it should be hard to get.
-
Bro, seriously, man up. You'll find that you enjoy the Crucible, just like I did when I had to do the Thorn bounty. Fusion rifle with void damage and a fast charge rate (mine was blue). Keep medium to medium-close range. Try to engage enemies at choke points, or at least have the forced into running in a straight line toward or away from you. Keep a cool head and play Control. In my entire Thorn quest I only had six games where my k/d was above 1.0. I sucked, but I made progress, and now I have the best hand cannon in the game. And, incidentally, it's also awesome for Crucible, which I never would have realized I enjoyed if not forced to get in there and mix it up to get Thorn. It's easier and more fun than you think. Trust me.

Finished this part of the bounty in like 6-7 games ... Lol it's not hard... And I don't PVP much haha
