Dragon's Breath is supposed to be one of the crown jewels of the dlc, an awesomely powerful exotic that destroys.
Right now, it's not. The solar grenade makes targets run away instead of taking damage. Right now it's only useful on bosses that don't move and blocking off choke points, which can be done with grenades.
My proposal is the get rid of the solar grenade and instead, give it a napalm burn to all enemies in the aoe. Once the rocket explodes, everything in the aoe takes burn damage like the hunter napalm grenade, except more powerful.
This will put DB in line with Gjallarhorn as one of the powerhouses of the game. Imagine firing a single rocket at the floor under 4 wizard ultras and watching them burn to death.
It will finally live up to the badass name "Dragon's Breath". It's also the best looking rocket launcher.

Thanks for the support guys. Keep it coming!!!
Edit 2:
Used it against Crota last night. With the slow rocket speed and lack of tracking, it was very hard to hit him from long range. This is pathetic as Dragon's Breath was made for this dlc.

You said that you tried it against Crota but did you try it with a Titan and the special helmet that turns ALL rockets into tracking rockets? If you had and done the napalm, I think even Crota would have been seriously hurt. Sure the speed is slow but in the right places the enemies don't even try to dodge it or gives you time to dodge then and reload so you can fire again. Plus the napalm severely limits their mobility while in the fire.

It's happened :D

It took us a year, but we did it boys. we did it.
-
This is a bit old, but bump.
-
2 RespuestasOr instead of being a rocket launcher it just becomes a flame thrower instead, that would be cool
-
A DoT would certainly help buff this weapon and give it a new dynamic that will shake up the metagame, and it should be updated with better velocity
-
1 RespuestaA good suggestion for this terrible weapon, but even still, it would had extremely low velocity and no tracking or even proximity detonation.
-
Bungie! Bump!
-
Walk, trot, canter and gallop.
-
1 RespuestaYou mean 4 wizard Majors...ultras are bosses...
-
this guy!!!yet bungie pays people to come up with less.with you were actually designing some of this games weapons BUMP!
-
Or simply add a stun effect to the enemy where they can not shoot or move while in the flare. Additional shots add to the stun timer

Awesome idea

Bump to the tenth degree...poor thing has been sitting in my vault forever
-
2 RespuestasAn idea that I have is to make dragons breath to drop a long path of fire under the rockets path, when fired, which stops when the rocket hits something. Players can think of smart ways to use it.
-
I really enjoy DB i find it best works on Walkers. Fun to fire and holds 3. It is a good weapon keep it as is and make another rocket launcher with the fire idea.
-
4 RespuestasOr maybe a arc RL that upon impact it creates a sphere of electricity that arc out electricity to enemies nearby
-
Holy necrobump, Batman.

Editado por Hawkmoon: 6/8/2015 4:26:37 AMI was thinking more of an AoE damage that will catch multiple enemies on fire based on proximity of eachother. Ex. player fires rocket, initial rocket kills dregs but a major still lives while burning. Said Major runs near other mobs and burns them as well. Now THAT would live up to its name. Oh and maybe increasing velocity
-
-
Nice...!
-
I think amping up the velocity and making the flare stick to the enemy would be better
-
How about it deploys several cluster bombs upon detonation that when detonated, burn all nearby enemies. So basically the cluster bombs are similar to the hunter's flame grenade and each one of the bombs dealt DoT. Also the DoT damage stacks.

Sounds awesome. Make it a real exotic. Not just a rocket with a warlock bubble as a side effect. :3
