Why Bungie won't flinch to permanently mass ban people who cheat
While some of you may think it's all good and well to exploit raids, there will come a time where Bungie will intervene. As an Activision subsidiary they are not unfamiliar to the practice of mass sanctions. Blizzard has been mass banning people for a decade now. We are talking twenty, thirthythousand at a time. Bungie will have no problems following suit.
It's a good thing for them too as they already made their money off you. The repeat business from the truly addicted is just an added bonus really.
So by all means, keep it up!
(I may get some Activision stock :o)

Almost no developer will ban players who use an exploit. An exploit only exists because of some flaw inherent to the game, either in the code itself or a logistical flaw in the game's design. Most developers (correctly) view this as their error and refrain from punishing players for finding and using an exploit. In this regard, it would be unethical for a developer to ban a player for utilizing an exploit.

6 RespuestasThe simple fact is they won't ever do a mass ban because that would be a can of worms (lawsuits, angry emails/threats and not to mention the attention that would draw from hackers) there is only 2 types of things that people will get banned for. Both fall in the classification of hacking 1 modding your console, 2 tampering the the network connection in order to cheat. I.E. The crota cheese. Other exploits such as pushing the templar/atheon off and warlock revive after enemies despawn are not at all punishable. These are exploits that are the developers responsibility I.E. They patched the Templar/Atheon. They can simply patch the bridge exploit if they want. The cheesing of crota could also be patched I believe if they change his mechanics to force a stand up and engage after taking so much dmg (say a flat percentage). Those are my thoughts enjoy.

Wow just look at how many cheesers are foaming at the mouth defending their cheap cheating practices. This country is in such God awful shape that the young people don't even recognize when they are cheating. So sad.

This style of banning only takes place if the user is manipulating the game from the outside IE hacking the system to change its function in order to manipulate how the in game play works. Aside from the Crota Cheese that someone figured out in regards to disconnecting the internet is the closest thing I've heard of to accomplishing that. However 99.9% of the cheesing going on in Destiny is due to utilizing in game play mechanics ... that's 100% on bungie, not the user. If they mass banned people for that they might as well expect a massive lawsuit. I honestly could care less if people cheese or not cheese, they paid for the game if I join a group that plays in a way that's unenjoyable to me I leave and find a different group.... simple as that. I've done both cheese and legit runs for all the game has to offer but if you ask me I'd prefer to have Bungie's Dev team spending more time on developing new content than modifying what's already out. But given their current process I can't imagine them mass banning like that, its an issue they created themselves and either accepting it for what it is and moving forward or patching it is their only options.

First off it's not cheating. Secondly they have 3 more dlc's to release. They are not going to loose people who they can still milk £30-50 each from. Also they will not want to put people off in advance of destiny 2 in the future. I'd strongly suggest they won't do anything

First off, get your facts straight. Bungie is an independent company with a publishing deal with Activision. There is no authority beyond selling a product. Activision only cares about money not banning people.

You're stupid and I do hope you get Activision stock. You're so easy for me to PvP, it will be considered cheesing when I meet you. And then I hope I find a glitch that involves deleting your characters in the Crucible. Bungie would be cool with that. I got rid of a cancer and have been coming to these forums for years. Crazy.

Taking advantage of poor design isn't really ban worthy. They are more worried about people that are modifying their code to give them an advantage or ruin peoples gaming experience.

Exploits and glitching are not bannable offenses. Those however that manipulate networks in any way, mod their game or consoles, will be.

If you read the weekly updates they talk about us cheesing and they just joke about it. I'm sure they know their game is a grind and really don't care if we cheese bosses to get rewards we usually don't even want. lol

1 RespuestaLet them ban. I've used exploits because my group has. I'm always down to do things legit, but for instance pushing he Templar off I've done that plenty of times in the past. Can I do the regular way sure I've led many runs and handled that part as the relic holder. With crota there are so many glitches that should have been fixed pronto. Like the gate part for instance so that's all dev problems. Disconnecting for crota is something completely different, however, but time and time again I find it hard to get people to do it legit. If I get banned for using an exploit then I have well good reason to stop playing finally. The game is/was fun. I basically repeat the same thing each week which isn't fun, but the hope of the gear I can't seem to drop after weeks repeating keeps me going. If I had my gaming rig if be gone but I don't so I stay.

In a game that requires weekly/daily grinding, after someone has done the raid legit, they have no reason to do it legit again. If they have already experienced the legit raid and had its fun...however many raids that may take someone, they are still human which means they are going to take the easiest/quickest route, it only makes sense. Bungie would be wiping out their entire player base besides the guardians with retarded pride in the fact that they haven't cheesed him. They aren't going to do anything about it, so quit your whining and play the game that YOU bought the way YOU want while everyone else does the same.

Sounds like someone needs a hug.. Glitching and hacking are not the same. It would be impossible to implicate everyone because as far as I know, all they did was exit the game at an inconvenient time for crota.. If bungie doesn't like glitching, then fix the code. Hackers should on the other hand be banned for life. Don't be a sour tool, you sound desperate..
