If you find one or two friends in school that you'll still be talking to in 15 years, consider yourself lucky. Schools all cliques and bullshit, take advice from the 99% of people who've been there already. Do your work, forget about the drama, and when you're finished and making $100k a year, you can say hi to those douches when you place your order in the drive through.

$100k isn't really that much but I get what your saying

$100k is plenty dependent on where you live. I started my job at $52k and live in a place where that put me in the upper middle income. You can also buy homes around here for under $50K and they aren't pieces of crap. I moved to Orlando a few years back and at the time was making around $60k, let me tell you that put me into the working poor. I lived in project type housing in a 2 bedroom shitty apartment and payed over $1600 a month nothing included. That didn't last long and when I found out I was having a kid I moved back home. The cost of living is so vastly different My daughter can goto private schools here for nearly what daycare costs there, it's pretty nuts.

Yeah we live in a pretty expensive area of Maryland, so u wouldn't say things around here are exactly cheap. There is a private school near me called Severn(I don't go there) that is $25k per kid a year, no discounts. Also one house in my neighborhood was in the market for like 2 years trying to sell for $1 mil and they just moved out recently to another house on the water. I can assure you that we don't make that much though.

I live in Buffalo so as long as you don't mind snow it's a great place. Like I said there are areas in the city I wouldn't dream of living, but It's like that in any city. Just look at a reality site and search houses for sale here, you'll be blown away how cheap they are.

Really?

Time for me to move! A low priced 2 bedroom Condo here is over $250k. A typical house is $600k -$800k.

Editado por RemittingFire28: 12/31/2014 9:51:34 AMMe and my wife just bought a 2 family 3 up 3 down house in a decent part of the city for $25k. It was built in 1875 and needs some interior work (like replacing the 1910 sunbeam furnace, its just a lot of old stuff) but the foundation is solid and they don't build homes like that anymore. I mean when's the last time you saw a 2x10 beam actually measure 2" x 9.75" the thing could withstand a tornado. I've always liked the personality old houses have, and it may take another $20k to get it how we want, but where are you gonna find a 2 family home for under $50k anywhere?
-
Wow, that's unbelievable! A "fixer upper" (bulldoze and rebuild) here is over $300k. I will never own a house here.
-
You can buy lots here to build on, or throw up a prefab for like $4-$9k depending on area. Don't get me wrong, some areas I would never live in, but you can buy a house at auction for under $10k. We looked around and waited a long time to get the right deal.

I love my city but it sure is expensive.
-
Me too, growing up I couldn't wait to leave, then once I left I just wanted to come back.

I come from a small northern town that I would never go back to (without napalm). In fact, they made fun of it on "How I Met Your Mother". I'd love to know who was behind that, it was one of my favorite moments in television.

100k a year is not bad either if you don't plan on having 7 kids.

Editado por hokie23aa: 12/31/2014 3:21:30 AMYeah that's true

That's my plan
