It's time to hang up my guardian's gear and call it game over. After investing so much time into this game and money into this company, I'm not really getting much out of this in terms of enjoyment.
I play games to have fun, and with destiny, everything feels like a chore. I log on to do the same thing on a different day.
Bounties. Dailies. Weeklies. Rinse and repeat. The new raid gave no sense of accomplishment, but rather a longing for something more. I've enjoyed destiny for all of it's aspects. I figured the expansion would be more, but was left with sand through my fingers.
I know that Destiny is one M shy of MMORPG and that it may be an FPS as well, one is expected to endure this monotonous trend. And I have.
What I liked:
Fast paced action combat that left my heart racing.
Smooth user interface.
VoG is still the best PVE experience I've had in any online game.
A variety of item stats, perks, class builds to suit the play styles of many.
Robust lore with a wealth of mystery and intrigue.
What I disliked:
Monotonous content.
Poor story delivery.
No trade system.
No in game text chat channels.
The feeling of doing chores when doing bounties and dailies.
No PVE progression. IE: Tier 1 raid gear (VoG) required to enter tier 2 raid (CE), instead they made VoG gear pointless for new players.
Forcing me to PvP.
Many PvP events and one subpar PVE event (queens BOUNTY)
I've grown to loathe the word bounty
The fact that Destiny is about as predictable and monotonous as my 9-5 work schedule.
Poor clan infrastructure.
No incentive for clans to work together.
No truly customizable options, everyone looks the same.
This game shows just as much personality as bungie showed when they didn't do anything for the holiday.
What I couldn't shake:
The feeling that Destiny is one big social experiment testing how much a consumer will pay before they get fed up and leave.
Farewell and happy grinding/farming.
May you find come next "expansion" that it was all for nothing. You have until March!
EDIT: For those of you in the same boat, add me on PSN (Hermes3339) so we can get together on some other games or follow our community @ OMENGaming.net

6 RespuestasWhy do people always post these long ass stories of why there quitting destiny. All you do is get negative responses. No one really cares if you're done playing or not.
-
I quit for month and a half waiting for dlc and now the games so fun again
-
my guardian is just like every other guardian.. this game sucks ass
-
-
Maybe if you didn't play the game 24 hours a day you wouldn't be sick of it.
-
Didn't bother reading th post. Came to say GOOD RIDDANCE.
-
After 500 hours of reading these "I quit" posts, I still don't care.
Bye
-
2 RespuestasEvery game is repetitive. How many other games gave you 500 hours worth?
-
9 RespuestasAnnndddd another useless post of stupid nonsense.
-
4 RespuestasHahahha 500 hours and extremely bad in pvp, i Would quit too then

I don't know if I'll be buying destiny 2* either for the same reasons. It was fun, and then they seeped it of its beauty. It's going to be the next call of duty if they progress down this road. #Bungivision

That moment you can have a more mature conversation with a chimpanzee who is flinging shit across the room instead of the assholes who don't know how to read something about there favorite game and move on with there lives. If they have one

1 RespuestaCan I have your stuff?

2 RespuestasDon't listen to the haters. You posted a well written opinion with both the positives and negatives of the game. I for one agree and only want Gamers to have fun. I was hoping for more from Destiny. It's a good game and I have played a lot but the grind has also gotten old. As for the people that are negative to your post they are short sighted and it may bite them in the butt. If everyone keeps telling folks to leave, then this online game will end up being a lonely place.

Editado por Ascendius: 12/25/2014 9:03:53 PMLots of responses to this post questioning the reason for this post, so I will entertain those who also took the time to reply to a "pointless" thread. 1. I will be keeping an eye on future updates, and may return upon being showed that solid changes were made, and not carrot-on-the-stick tactics. 2. I wrote this thread mainly as a piece of feedback to Bungie. I enjoyed the game during the time I played, but as new iterations were released, I became more disenfranchised. If anything, this thread was created to help bungie maintain the players they still have if they truly decide to listen to the feedback I've given. 3. I've stated what I liked about the game followed by what I didn't like, which I feel shows that I hold fond memories of this game and had some great experiences while they were still fresh. In any case, thanks for your feedback on my feedback.

If you played 500+ hours, did you really not get your money's worth?
-
14 RespuestasI agree with most of what OP said..either wy 500 hrs for 60 bucks is damn cheap entertainment and you got your money worth
-
You sir hit the nail on its head! Destiny "was" a good game. But there are 2 sides to it and not much of a bridge between them. You have crucible and PVE and neither mesh well together. Raid gear and weapons aren't anything special in crucible. They are just social status items. The story itself was very short and all over the place. Then the DLC, 20$! If never played that much for a DLC and it was the smallest amount of content. I gave the 1st DLC a chance, if it was good I would keep playing. Needless to say I sold Destiny yesterday.
-
1 RespuestaI agree with you completely. I'm starting to feel the grind burnout and it sucks. The only thing keeping me in the game are the people I play it with.
-
3 Respuestas"After 500 hours I no longer find this game entertaining." Funniest reason to quit ever.
-
Thanks for your opinion. You made some good points. Your ill wishes given to us now that you have had your fun is noted. Goodbye. Don't come back.
-
Well that's good for you cause I for one will never tire of kicking the crap out of things. That's the reason I still have a 360 so I can play Skyrim again for the 50th time and kick the crap out dragons.

4 RespuestasDon't let the door hit you on the way out. If you don't enjoy a game done play it and don't whine
