its true you just have to keep track of when and what will spawn and make sure you communicate with your team. Barely any skill needed.
EDIT: my point is that you dont have to be skilled to do the raid if someone takes you through it once then you can get through any raid easily but the crucible provides players with different situations all the time ultimately testing your real skills. Its more random and your facing a person thinking for themselves not bots that are spawning in the same location at the same time.
EDIT 2: This post is starting to make me realize that I might be starving for content due to playing destiny everyday for 5 hours a day. Maybe its time for a break.
Final edit: I have realized that I just love to argue it gets me through the work day so that's the point of this thread. Thank you everyone for your opinions and replys as it is everyone's right to voice their own.

Would you like to have a full argument, or would you like to take the course?

4 RespuestasThe fact that I've seen some bad kids ruin many, many raids says there is some level of skill required...

4 RespuestasNo video games really require skill. Who is your point?

not quite sure what you expect from raids, the only interesting part about them is the hours immediately following a raid release while everyone struggles to figure out the patterns. in comparison darksouls some of the hardest games released in the last few years is nothing more then memorizing patterns as well. some games the challenge lies in learning the patterns and that's what raids are and why people put spoiler tags when discussing them, because if you just follow a guide or do cheese to complete it then you are more or less skipping the only enjoyable part about them.
-
Just like everything else in any video game, so I fail to see the point lol

6 RespuestasEditado por JLoco11: 12/17/2014 7:27:54 PMApparently you think coordination and memorizing things aren't skills. But you consider skill, keeping your finger on the trigger button in the crucible? Please kid, logic is clearly not your weapon of choice here.
-
I though co-ordination was a skill....some have it in spades other don't, and you get better at it if you work on it....to a degree
-
2 RespuestasWhen you play against a computer, skill might not seem apparent but consistent execution requires skill.

Memorization and coordination are skills.

Memorization and coordination are skills...

Skill doesn't require adaptability.
-
That is all skill....
-
You mad cause you can't beat crota lol get skills NeWb
-
That is skill. Team Work. Coordination. Strategy. This is what defines skill. Honeslty...if even we had all of the above, your team must have SKILL AS A WHOLE to succeed.
-
Aren't the majority of the posts fromPvP folks about how bad everyone in the crucible is? Does it actually take real skill to put three shots on these horrible players that, as is often said, "go full retard?"
-
Uhm, what you describe sounds like skill to me. Knowing whats going to happen and how to deal with it?

6 RespuestasEditado por Daveee x 17: 12/17/2014 7:06:06 PMNo skill to push buttons. OKAY... No amount of memorization is gonna help you take out a boomer as an example if you have no reaction time or button skills.
-
Totally agree with this. All you need is a brain and raids are a piece of cake!
-
You totally forgot to add that our guns aim themselves too.
-
Do i feel better now that u got that off your chest lol

Completely agree. Once I got the layout, and enemy strategies worked out for the 1st raid, the most difficult thing, was finding a team. Raids take as much skill as completing story missions for the first time. By now, every player(not counting new) knows by heart, the best places for cover, speed run routes etc. Take the Crota raid beginning, at first it was like "WTF, what do i do" then you just need to memorize the best route to run towards each torch, then sprint towards the huge light, it's pure luck not getting killed by the thralls. I found it extremely tedious though, to go through it once, for a purely random chance at getting the decent gear, fortunately, once gave me some decent rewards ;)

3 RespuestasCrucible skills= corner camping with shotgun/ fusion rifle no aim, blade dancer auto melee.

34 RespuestasEditado por Necromatrix: 12/16/2014 5:44:01 PMWhy are so many people hung up on "skill" in games... As if it's some prize or great feat. Here are your precious skills in gaming: Hand-eye coordination, twitch reflexes, map knowledge and communication. So yeah... The raid does require "skill".
