I told my mom to get their game for my brother for Christmas so that he could play with me online, and I just got an email from her saying "It IS Destiny that you wanted me to get for Nick, right?"... I called her, and she went on to tell me that she had just read an article on Yahoo about how awful it was, and wanted to make sure that she hadn't ordered the wrong thing... It's like they are purposely sabotaging their own game. It's amazing... Glorious even... Like a slow motion train wreck. I love this game, but it is shocking how absolutely horrendous the decision making has been on Bungie's part so far, and making matters worse is that the fallout from this debacle is starting to get covered less than two weeks before Christmas... I'm sure that my mom wasn't the only person who has seen their article, or one of the dozens just like it that are currently online, after purchasing this game and seriously considered returning it or canceling their order...

No... I get that... The point is, if you are going to make a game, and you are going to release an expansion a couple of weeks before Christmas, you better make sure that it's not a steaming pile of crap... Bad publicity two weeks before Christmas is a nightmare for any industry, especially the gaming industry that relies on that holiday to turn profits. There are a lot of people reading these articles that are hitting today that don't give a damn about what Bungie is trying to do... They are just trying to figure out if spending half a day's pay on a video game that the gaming media says hates it player base is really a wise thing to do... The fact that Bungie hasn't gone into damage control and made an announcement addressing this is just further proof at the incompetency of their PR team...
