Why the Cryptarch actually got nerfed
Bungie said that they would make it harder for people to rank up the Cryptarch, but he would have a higher chance of giving you legendary engrams from the Postmaster. This is a lie.
I don't know about you all, but I've probably leveled up my Cryptarch three or four times since TDB came out, and I have gotten nothing but blue engrams. Tons of them. I just watched DPJ's video of him opening packages from the Cryptarch, and he says he's probably opened 500 blue engrams from the Cryptarch in recent weeks. He also mentioned he never gets legendaries from ranking up his Cryptarch.
WTF we're supposed to be rewarded now that it takes forever to level up the Cryptarch! Someone like a Destiny Youtuber who plays 24/7 gets as much sh!t as we do. Blue engrams are frickin useless, and I never get legendary gear from them either. I only get them now from ranking up Vanguard and Crucible. Not even factions give me stuff.
Bungie said they would give us a better Cryptarch, and they didn't unless it's a bug. Bungie please reward us for constantly decrypting-and-dismantling our thousands of blue engrams.

EDIT: Maybe my lucks just bad, idk. You guys sound like you're a lot luckier that I am. Whatever, I'm still pissed at that bastard.

3 RespuestasDude, you're so unlucky! I get legendary engrams ALL the time from the cryptarch. He even turn my blue engrams into legendaries! Only problem is that I only get legendary class item engrams.. >.<

I've got bugger all too from 'DaFool'. I've believe it's in retribution for looting the original loot cave. PS still miss that cave......was a social place to hang out!!

Why are you guys wanting those legendary engram anyway? it's all the stuff vendors sell with a low chance of it being better load out of perks.

You can actually get Legendaries from leveling the Cryptarch? I think that's a myth.

Yeah the cryptarch is easily my most hated video game npc ever. I've been gaming since I was 10. 15 years of gaming and I hate that motherfu*ker the most out of every npc I've ever encountered.

I've gotten maybe two legendaries in over ten cryptarch levels, This does not feel much different than what it was before, despite the amount of time it took to [i]get[/i] those levels.

Went from level 62 to 73 and all packages were blue engrams. They made him harder with the decodes but kept the rates the same. I Strongly think this is the case. 11 Levels and nothing but blue engrams is a load of bullshit. I seen more Legendary Engrams before this damn patch.

I have been having the same problem. Across my three guardians I probably leveled up cryptarc 12 times since this update and have not received a single legendary engram. I understand that it's RNG but that's ridiculous. It's 0%. It's mathematically impossible for it to have been raised to that...

So far I've gotten three legendary engrams but he turned them into energy or shards and I decrypted all three together

Lol, I just got two legendary armor engrams yesterday, for a class that I haven't started using yet. Chill man, keep rolling the dice, I have not gotten a legendary engram drop since I started playing.

I'm having same luck as u but 6 times with only blues I had better luck before this

My blues found in the world [b]never[/b] turn to purples. But I get purple engrams in the Cryptarch level package about every 3rd level. So, two will be strictly blues then the 3rd will be one or two purples. I did, however, get 3 purple Engram [b][u]drops[/u][/b] yesterday (Sunday 12/14/14) in my travels just running Eris missions and bounties... Faction levels are usually a disappointment.

1 RespuestaOn day 3 of TDB, I had two rare engrams decrypt into legendaries, back to back. Mind you the only time something like this has happened (that I can recall) was week 2 after launch, when one of my legendary heavy weapon engrams decoded into Gjallarhorn (pre-patch!!!)

Iv gotten afew (like maybe 3) legendaries from the cryptarch out of 5 levels since DLC. Vangaurd on the other hand I get like 1 coin, 1 shard and a shader 3 TIMES!!!

since TDB I've gotten 1 legendary engram everytime I level the cryptarch up, don't know if other had this same experience, but just in case.

Only got two decent legendary weapons since the patch, both from blue engrams. One was Time On Target (Pulse rifle), the other was the LDR 5001 (Sniper). I've been farming the new vanguard roc strikes like crazy for the past two days but only gotten garbage. I got two legendary gauntlet engrams but since those were useless to me I dismantled them for shards. Trying for an exotic (Red Death or No Land Beyond are the only two I actually want) but since I have awful luck I doubt I will be getting any of them soon... unless Xur decides to be nice and give me one for Christmas. Given up with trying my luck on crucible because the only people who get exotics on crucible are the ones who get a K/D of 0.2.

My cryptarch rewards have been utter garbage when I rank up. On the other hand, I ranked up dead orbit the other day and got four or five things, nothing spectacular, but more things than I've received before at once (I think it was two blue engrams, a crucible commendation, a strange coin or two, and a shard). Still no fn shader though. It seems like I've gotten more blue engrams than usual too, none of which got upgraded when decoded; and the two legendaries I took him got decoded into materials instead of the primary and heavy weapons they were for.
