The moon was granted slight atmosphere and gravity by the Traveler (source: DeeJ on Guardian Radio). The Destiny art team was actually assisted by Craig Hargrove, a post doctoral fellow in astronomy and geology from Arizona State.

There are NO shooting stars in space. You need an atmosphere/friction/heat/fire to create that. I'm not smarter than that guy i'm sure, but aside from comet tails of gas/ice/dust - there is no shooting stars. [spoiler]And to Quote BBT (big bang theory) - geology is the Kardashians of science.[/spoiler] Didn't know the part about traveler though. Thanks.

I realize that. That's why I included that bit about the Traveler granting the moon weak atmosphere. I'm assuming that they're assuming that it's particles from that space station, etc. falling through it.
